Ro water conditioner

That sounds a little high for RO, I see about 8-15 from store bought RO. I don't understand why you'd have problems with RO at 20-30ppm, but it's recommended to use a water softener before the RO filter.

"If your water sample shows that you have hardness, iron and sodium in your water, a softener needs to go in front of the RO system to remove the Calcium and Iron from the water. Otherwise the Calcium and Iron will quickly exhaust the RO Membrane."
Wait I don’t have city water and your running softener before ? I think u should never use anything from a softnev
More like a slimy foam. It is slick buy very airated.
I had the same thing from a bucket I was using with just RO water in it I had it in my room to give more RH and from the light being right on it that’s what happened it was thick kinda but ya I know what u mean

With this, it doesn't happen with ro water, the thing is as clean as can be, but took a few days to go full nasty with the tap water.

I switched back to ro water and also tried mixing in the cal mag and letting it sit over night and am getting much better results. I was mixing in the reservoir but i don't think it was mixing it properly. The reservoir is back to clean after getting the tap water out of there as well.

Hey..I'm kinda having the same issue..
Could you pls explain how you go about the process in detail while making a new reservoir by adding calmag 1st.
Thanks..

The solution for me was to run double the reccomended dose of calmag, and the thing that seemed to fix the problem was mixing the calmag in to the water well and letting it sit for 30ish minutes before adding the micro. I use gh calimagic calmag so there isn't a lot of nitrogen like some others and using extra didn't have any negative effects. The mixing process seemed to be the fix though. I now let it sit for a bit after mixing each thing in and was able to get very dialed in on my coco grow.

Thanks for the quick reply..
I'm doing dwc with maxibloom and calimagic. I never tried increasing the dose above 1ml/l.
So ur saying doubling the dose and letting it sit for 30 mins as compared to overnight is good enough?

Doubling the dose would raise my ro water ppm from 22 to 600..I won't be able to mix in maxibloom then I guess..

Yeah, i did it on my drip hydro setup, and also with my coco grow and the waiting 30 min an double dose made them about the healthiest plants i have grown. I had calcium problems with the ro water and 3 different nutrient lines, and 3 different mediums, had just used tap water and ocean forest before so had no problems, but the ro in every situiation needed the extra calmag. I switched to doing a 2n'd ph test after the meter with liquid drops as well to verify and for me it has made a world of difference.

I ran the same amounts of everything that i id previously, the ppm comes up, but it is mainly calcium rising the level so you will just run at a higher ppm. I always seem to have good luck with about 1/2 the usual dose that they call for with Advanced though so i don't run full strength on the trio, but the same ppm of base nutrients with the calmag ppm plus the boosters later in flowering.

Sounds good bro..
One last thing...could you pls run me through the total ppms you maintain for veg and flower..
i.e calmag ppms and base nutrient ppms at different stages of growth..
Im sorry to ask too much..but trying your method could somehow help me with my current grow..
I've lost way too many plants just dealing with the ro water that I have..
Thanks.
