Should I put a air stone in the container that holds the water?

It's not a bad idea if it's going to hit for more then a day. But if you use it before that it's not needed.

I go through about 35 gallons a week and it sits for days in it now with no air stone And i drink from it to.

yes, then an air stone would be recommended.
