A us gallon is 3.8 litres and an imperial gallon is 4.54 litres. Does anyone use imperial gallons anymore?

All the time. I'm of the age group that learned the imperial measuring system first and had the switch to metric in about grade 7 or 8. To this day I measure in feet and inches or ounces and gallons....and then have to convert!

It is the same situation for me save one minor difference. I do not bother to convert. I do not care if my steak is xxx ounces or xxx grams. I only care about the quality. The steak WILL be bbq'd perfectly and I will eat it. If I am having a bowl of homemade soup for lunch I put the soup in a bowl then heat and eat. The amount of ml vs. fl.oz is irrelevant.

I was thinking about my job. I am constantly doing conversions for the water system. Even that is confused. Some of my storage is marked in Litres, and some in gallons and my consumption meters are in cubic meters - and math isn't my forte! I have an app for that! lol

NDP putting gas up 35 cents a litre (1.40 a gallon in american). So that is what the increase would be with their added carbon tax. Past the 1.40 per litre we pay currently. An additional 35 cents per litre is roughly 1.40 per us gallon (actually 1.33 CDN to be precise). Now i get where that 1.40 a gallon thing came from.

That is unfortunate. I am one of those freaks that can do math in my head faster than most can with a calculator. Mixing metric and imperial mixed together would definitely compound the conversion issues

When I found out 90k was rich is when they lost me. Rich to who exactly? I am a single parent with a mortgage and I make a good buck and i get a pension because my wife died (and paid into it for 30 years) and i pay for my sons pension for the same reason.
Chip in a little more....45% of my wage goes to tax. FUCK that.

2.5 cm = 1 inch. I bought a tent in metres but it is roughly 4 x 4 (a little bigger).
Most have no clue what being rich is...

My point is this...if my wife were alive i could income split us both down to 65k or so. Then I am no longer rich. I became a single parent and now I am rich. Welcome to the new Robin Hood math. Welfare recipients should get more. They can hardly afford their smokes and beer eh. Take it from the perceived rich.

The funny thing is the bills remained the same...the tax load got worse....and everything else in this province goes up per year (property tax, natural gas and gas (carbon tax), kids programs, food, etc).the fact yer still here........................ more like it....
I am glad to be on the end of it. I might retire next year.
