Rockwool cube question

i am still new this...3rd harvest this weekend...and I've used jiffy pellets for both seeds and clones with great success with seeds and moderate success with clones. The major drawback of the pellets are that I live in a hot/humid part of the US so they often stay too moist. Currently, we are having a dry cold front and now they are drying out too fast. Because of this, I just ordered some Rockwool to try. I grow in either soil or coco peat.

I don't need a hand holding on how to use the Rockwool, I can use the search feature for that. My question is if one of the squares are broken, is there a way to 'fix' it for use? I've included a pic. Thanks!

Thanks! I was thinking that but wanted some responses since a quick Google search provided nothing. Just wasn't sure since the tape seems like it would restrict root development. Am I wrong about this?

What the fk? You bought them, do the math on what one of those things cost, like a nickel?
If you are thinking to use rockwool in the future, I would use the 4"x4" blocks with a 2" hole already cut into it.Just plop you Jiffy plug into the hole and you are done (trim the block if it is too big) Remember to pretreat your rockwool to 5.4 PH overnight, and I add some mild nutes, so when your tap root goes into it, (which will happen faster than you think, it) has some food to suck up. Good luck

Ha ha...it wasn't about the $$. Just wondering since I've never used them before. Thanks for the pretreating advice.

It won't bother the roots. The 2x2 cubes come wrapped in plastic sheeting, the roots just turn and grow down.
