Thank you. I've never heard truer words. Ron Paul is a real conservative in the true definition of the word. And I would say the Republican party hasn't been real conservatives since b4 Bush.

let me put this another way...
Jesus is not the government. when you pray to the government it doesn't do you any good. it is a sham because they can't hear you. i assume that in your mind the government replaces Jesus, that's why you want laws to force people to behave a certain way. instead of having a change of heart that will allow them to experience true liberty you would rather have man-made legal conscience give some people liberty and other people prison. government is less than Jesus, He actually makes government obsolete if you think about it...

my apologies, i OBSERVED that you would legislate conscience in another thread so it wasn't much of a stretch to assume that if government can control conscience then it's fulfilling some type of god-role for you.
nothing man-made can override the natural liberty that comes with having a conscience. some of us will ignore it, some of us will listen but interventionist laws that target thoughts and beliefs of citizens are an even worse crime than aggressive foreign wars.

You and I agree on a number of things, Freedom is important for me. I will fight for my freedom, I just don't want to be a martyr. The way government works is to divide and conquer. They will take one rebel and make an example out of him. This scares all the rest of the sheep back into the flock. If everyone on my street decided to take up arms and head to the federal building, I may join in, but if I saw a helicopter gunship Hovering in front of the building, or 5 hundred marines with shoot to kill orders in front of the building, I may return home. Trying to overthrow the government is a really huge task, besides, it's called treason, and in a time of war, they hang your ass.
