Your wrong when you say they have no desire to assimilate, they desperately do, they just lack the education and knowledge. Take a look at the kids of illegal aliens. They go to school so they get a chance to accumulate knowledge and assimilate. I went to school with a lot of them and you cannot tell the difference between kids whose parents are citizens and those whose are not. That's very ignorant to say they have no desire to assimilate. Maybe they have a rough time doing it in some cases but the desire is there.

Desire does not control their money...the majority of which goes right back to Mexico!

Actually there are numerous studies that the average illegal immigrant sends back 1900 dollars of the average 22000 he earns in a year. It isn't cheap living in the states

The survey, conducted by Bendixen & Associates and based on U.S. census data, showed that seven out of 10 immigrants in Wisconsin send an average of $1,849 a year to their homelands.

Survey and study are two different things. According to the article "The survey, conducted by Bendixen & Associates and based on U.S. census data, showed that seven out of 10 immigrants in Wisconsin send an average of $1,849 a year to their homelands."

In WISCONSIN!!!! Let's see a national average shall we? Then maybe you have a point, otherwise you are citing statics for WISCONSIN!!!!:blsmoke:

That is some fascinatingly vague summation. Before WWII there was this era called the Great depression. Before that WWI and before that the industrial revolution. Your concept of simplicity is amazing. Going backwards isn't simple, most likely completely impossible.
Two main factors of the Great Depression were a very bad drought in the west and a poor ability to get goods and produce to market. FDR solved both these problems with public work projects. His approach was simple.

Now, we could have another great depression with a complicated, volatile, high speed economy. Solution? 1. We should implement a public work project to distribute water resources even better. 2. Simplify our government and economy, before we have a train wreck.

Through out history, complicated always bites your ass.

You are completely lost. I can only wish to have the smoke you have. How would you simply get rid of credit cards, mutual funds, and stock options? How would you simplify the current economy to a pre WWII economy?
Can you possibly answer this question?

Something serious is just coming to light, 7x. Some members of the Mexican military are guarding/protecting Mexican drug smugglers as they cross the border. The Mexican government has denied this, but Mexican military identification cards have been found along the trails on our side of the border as far as 65 miles into the U.S. Also, Texas ranchers along the border are ready to revolt. There have even been kidnappings of American women who have been taken back across the border into Mexico to be used as "gifts" to the leaders of the drug cartels. The violence along the Texas/Mexican border is very serious ... and no major news outlets are reporting it. Glenn Beck had an indepth story about it last night. He's going to be pounding this issue until the major media wake up to it. Watch Glenn Beck nightly on CNN.

i've watched him a time or two, it's very rare that i watch tv but he struck me as a very entertaining guy.

there have been reports about this military stuff on the web for years, they have fired at OUR border patrol officers but no one here does anything about it. company policy i guess! (you know what company that would be... and it's not "publicly" traded either) mexican army came over the border right after katrina, fully armed and loaded. mass media reported it but someone upstairs told them to shut up about it. the political alliance between our two countries is FAR more progressive than most of us know, far more.

Loved the video, did you notice that many of the signs refer to them being in their homeland? Their country? Yea I did too. It makes me remember the way the "Americans" stole the land from the original Indigenous people, then moved them into anything but suitable living conditions-which the "Americans" then had to pay for creating probably the earliest form of WELFARE. seems like we were all about screwing people out of their land throughout our history. Texas, Arizona, California, and New Mexico are all parts of stolen Mexican Land in 35 years the US stole over one million square miles roughly a third of the land it had controlled. So yes they have a right to be here, no we shouldn't push them out, or make them out to be uneducated lazy criminals, when it is really their land.

also I liked that the posters name was wilsonCLAN makes me think about who he's supporting.

I'm not really on one side or the other when it comes to this issue. I can see points from both sides of the argument and you pro-deportation people have some very good ones. I just couldn't bring myself to be in favor of deportation-Mexico really sucks. I guess this is Y I couldn't ever be a politician- I'm just too much of a softie. I would let every1 in:mrgreen:

he backs bush on basically everything (I know why Vi likes him ; )

The other day, he claimed that he was a libertarian, and then started criticizing Paul as a poor representative of libertarianism. Why? Because he's not mainstream enough. That is, not "neo-con" enough. Not belligerent enough. Libertarianism isn't mainstream, and based off everything I've seen him say, he's just another fearmonger. That guy's basically completely full of shit; he's a neo-con. The only problem he tackles from a constitutionally preserving angle of neo-conservatism is guns; he likes those. But he couldn't give a damn about the rest of it.

What about the story that the government (NSA) has been copying all domestic traffic at AT&T for the length of Bush's presidency, and that this is already a secret police state? It's just waiting to be exposed! I'm sorry, illegal immigration doesn't compare to no constitutional protection of privacy. Every word that you've written on this site has been recorded, and they know every place you've ever been online. Watch the Olbermann interview with the AT&T whistleblower...

Can I get an "Amen" from Vi and Wavels on this that the constitution doesn't matter anymore, as long as a Republican is in power that talks about the defeat of fascism in third world countries? I'm sure you'll both justify this crap, i was just wondering...

I thought a government that doesn't follow its own laws is just a gang with an army. But it would be hard to kiss something like that's ass, so we'll have to see how you two go to work on my phrasing of all of this. Vi's an expert at putting lipstick on pigs, well, at least his pigs... like Glenn Beck.

there are a lot of well known people who say they are libertarians but then spew off justifications for the ransacking of liberty with various laws, they pardon the destruction of our economy with countless wars for our protection, they support international treaties that bind trade and punish American workers.

Dennis Miller is a great example of a neo-con who labels himself as a libertarian, he says "i'm a libertarian" almost every time he's on the O'Reilly factor but then he talks about needing to expand the federal government to control more people. it's fairly laughable really. the only true libertarian in mass media is Judge Napolitano.

the mexican government sold that land to the federal government, just as spain and france had done in the past. a group of dissenting mexicans tried to take it back by force but they were quickly destroyed by State Militias and Army. it's not their land and if they want to try to take it again they'll face even stronger opposition with a more widespread defeat that will probably result in the annexation of all of mexico as a new state in the union.

if they want to illegally come here and enjoy all that we've built they better show some respect because i guarantee you that for every 1 criminal illegal mexican that will come out and cry for more criminal welfare you'll get 500 Americans willing to come out and put them in check.

you keep making noise and see what happens.

"he backs bush on basically everything (I know why Vi likes him ; )"

Evidently you don't watch Glenn Beck much. He's blasted Bush on numerous issues. The border issue is one. The arresting and incarceration of our border guards is another as is the over spending of the Bush administration. And by the way, the fact that I continually point out the inconsistencies, dishonesty, hypocrisy and the danger of the Democrat Progressive Party doesn't mean that I'm a "Bush supporter."
