One thing I have looked at for my deck boat is UV resistant composit sheets (white) that range from 1/2-1" thick and I doubt they would flex. I've priced them out at $185 Can. for a 4x8 sheet. Google them and see what u think. Also painting plexiglass is gonna take some research as well I would think.

I had to move quick so yup I just wrapped everything in the bubble wrap and it lowered temps substantially. I have actually given up in the sprayer's and went back to basic fllood and drain
.yeah i looked it up if you're talking about "Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic" i think its more expensive than plexi though if you compare by thickness, a 1/2" X 48" X 96" Standard Grade Green Sheet is 900 bucks for 1 sheet but I've read painting plexi isn't that bad as far as painting, i read to just sand it then use black spray paint as a base and use white spray paint on top of that
yeah I've already asked him about that but in the flood tables where he uses it he doesn't suspend the pot like i want to do, he just lets them rest in the table...i feel like id have to get like 3" thick styrofoam to hold the weight up without cracking or snapping, then again I've never used that exact material so i can't say for sure. unless i got like .25" plexi and put an inch of the styrofoam board on top so its lightproof/insulated and it can still stay relatively thin

I was buying 10 sheets and getting it from the manufacturer but it was a plastic composit honeycomb, retail was 400 a sheet, I'll see if I can find it as I may finally rebuild the boat this summer

Why not use the white rack like he did in the tray they sell that exact same stuff for do it yourself shelving at ur hardware store
might be my only option, i got quoted for 8 sheets of white ABS for 385, fuck that, either that styrofoam or plexiglass

The plus with plexiglass is you'll have it for ever
.I'm just scared that if i have a 3x6 of plexi with 3 dozen 5" holes in it that its a lot more susceptible to snapping or cracking (maybe not cast acrylic though) which def isn't happening with ABS. i actually found a place that sells 1/4" 4x8 sheets of white general purpose ABS for 145 so i might say screw it and get that i just hope it won't warp. i guessed the weight of all the net pots/plants should be no more than 75 pounds, thats a decent estimate, no?The plus with plexiglass is you'll have it for ever

I would say that yes you will get a bit of a bend with 1/4 but I've been wrong before. I use a plexiglass piece for filler using a window shaker and it's five years old and take it in and out yearly

yeah i think the holes would make the plexi snap too easily and abs certainly isn't gonna snap plus ABS is light/chemical proof and its whats a shit ton of hydro products are made of (including the tray it will be on) and if worse comes to worse i can glue a support (or a couple)in the middle of the sheet to prevent warping. i just have to figure out what i can use to cut perfect 5" holes.... and also it seems like the only abs available is textured ABS which 1 side is flat the other is a bumpy-like texture, not sure which side i should use facing the roots or which side i should have facing the lightsI would say that yes you will get a bit of a bend with 1/4 but I've been wrong before. You can buy some pretty cheap 5" hole saws, I bought a kit that does 7 sizes up to 6" so great for drain holes, etc, they don't have to be great quality as it just plastic.

1/2"x4'x8' white pvc sheets available at the depot....cuts easy, and if you sand it lightly would hold paint if you really wanted it to. $90/sheet

It was even before the mat had formed and the roots were still just hanging but you could see where In the middle they had started then just all went to hell. The girls (clones) are doing real well with the chiller in place, 4 weeks (hopefully) to finish woohoo.
