So I have a 25 gal tank. I have changed out 15 gallons using hydroguard and PH to 5.5.
TDS is at 525 cannot seam to get it any lower
Added two more fresh gallons to raise level to 1" below cups. TDS 515
Should I do a water changeout? I can only mix 10 gallons at a time, leave out all neuts, add hydroguard
Watch TDS and add nuets to raise to 400 then re-PH?

being lower would not be the cause of RR
Not all discoloration is root rot. An old trick is to add an air-buffer of a few inches from the bottom of the net pot to the water level once the roots are grown down into the solution. This helps prevents rot because usually it starts within the net pot. But for real, don't think you got rot.

Thanks for the wake up. I studied horticulture at U of Az but have not practiced it in 45 years. Yea old guy here. I need to think and not follow every suggestion as it's rather head spinning. Similar to growing potato's in the desert, give them what they need and leave them alone. I never saw root rot at the net pot level only under water - must be discoloration from the calimagic. And I cut them off! They look terrible this morning. Perhaps time will heal - Thanks again!

Could be nutrient staining. Could be algae growth. Don't understand why you want to keep lowering the tds. If you have root rot or algae life form, low tds won't get rid of it. Plants need the nutrients.

i just assumed you had rot since you said you had rot in post 1. if it's just stain its probably from the micro more than the cal/mg

Are you using tap water? Chlorine kills. I use reverse osmosis water.
cut off whatever is rotted. Remember some products will stain your roots like humic acid. You won't have those pretty white roots anymore but it doesn't mean your plant isn't taking up nutrients and water. If your plants look terrible wouldn't add any products. Rinse out your buckets. PH some plain water and make sure to have plenty of oxygen in the root zone. (at least until you see some improvement) just my 2 cents.

I use Hydrogen Peroxide 3% 300 ml every water in 20gal res. Works great.

It wasn’t root rot, just staining from the nutes or additives I reckon. Mine were like that when they were young so I researched and decided it wasn’t root rot ( hard to see in the photo cause of the lights so just trust me). I left them and carried on as usual and look at them now!

780ppm is definitely hot for seedlings. My source water is 130ppm and I use roughly 400ppm for the first two weeks before doing a reservoir change and going up to 500-600. Your water temp is great, how much air are you pumping in the reservoir? Make sure you have more than enough
