Root space in a 60cm high tent

Hey guys.
I don't find fitting the plants in small spaces hard. It's the area for the roots I find hard. I'm always skimping on root space with small pots. They end up root bound before I transfer them to there flowering location.
I have a 60cm high by 45cm wide tent which I clone and veg in. I have a adjustable led light that I run at 50-75w (max 130w) real watts.
50 when clones are rooting. I can get heat and light great. My only issue is the roots. With 5 plants and a cloning tent. It's tight. Not just that but I could use a fatter pot or square pot. But then they wouldn't transfer into there forever homes. 2.5g buckets. Without major root stress.
As it is. They get bound in 6 weeks waiting for the flowering tent to be empty. Then I have to cut the roots and rough house on transfer in order to get it out of its root bound state. Which would no doubt lose me time on the great stretch. I can keep a wet container under them. And grow massive roots out the pot. But then come transfer. I have to tear half the roots off. Everyway points to a larger tent :( which I don't want to have to do.
Thanks guys

Nft isn't what I'm after sorry. I prefer hand watered systems due to my locale.
I've been watching some vids. And it seems people grow there plants alot bigger then mine before they get root bound. Maybe I'm growing roots not the plant hhahaha

Hi, I also have the same problem, but with a little bit of heat problem. One suggestion I would suggest is growing in straight perlite. It allows the roots to grow in same size containers, while allowing the roots to get more space, and air to the roots.you can even use the same nutes ( if you are using any). Hope this helps.

I was using full perlite to start. For me it was just to inert . Which was semi ok when I was running synthetics. But since swapping to a mix of synthetic and organic. My results have been alot better and to support the bacteria somewhat I now use perlite/verm mix that I add 15-20% Coco to.
How hot are your lights. Mine draws 55w at the moment. And can go up to 130w . 55w doesnt even keep it over 22c

Just prune the roots every 6 weeks and transplant into the same pots with fresh mix. Its is actually not a loss. It’ll make roots branch out better. You can prune and go directly into a bigger pot too. It’ll catch up in a day or two unless you do this stoned and take off too much. In that case a week.

Ditch the plant pots and use small totes or like food containers for lower profile (see why below)

Also put a wire shelf or smth and have ur clones under that so that u have 60x60 x30 for clones and first couple weeks and a whole nother 60x60 60 got proper veg

The shade from the plants above will dim the light for clones

Easy

Go hydro, and use the 24" square by 8" high Tupperware bin that goes under the bed. You have to use more airstones, but it allows you to keep insanely huge plants low to the ground.

Edit: DWC with 6" net pots!
