Rootbound during flowering help please??

hi i wanted to find out i have a big plant which i lst'd ,i transplanted into a bigger pot 1 week before flowering ,i was wondering if it becomes rootbound will the yield decrease ,i have heard so many people say no its fine it wont it will carry on growing and, i have heard people say it will stop producing buds and stop growing, can someone please clear up this situation and give me a straight answer? i only have the one plant under a 250watt so i want the most from it

Sure you repotted it into a bigger pot, it kind of depends on what size the plant and pot is its in?

how big is the bucket and how big is the plant? whats your bud light?

I thought people were finished with root bound now jeez

the plant is 3 foot tall and 3 foot wide each way and in a 45 litre pot and i have a 250 watt hps

i know its not rootbound now i am saying later on during the flowering stage say maybe 4-5 weeks in it may become rootbound this plant grow roots like crazy ,will it effect my yield i have heard people say rootbound during flowering is not really a problem as long as you carry on feeding

no.... once in flower the roots no longer expand as they do in veg

johnnyquest how about giving sum helpful advice than mocking inexpericned growers? U WAS A N00B AT SUM POINT or do u forget that?

Colonnuggs said it... Once in flowering the roots do slow down, but the veg growth up top continues in the early phases of flowering, and that is what we call the stretch...

Well I can tell you nothing really...since I have 3 plants in late flower now that are all root bound...not kinda but like for real...it's causing some spotting and possibly some foxtailing...and a lot of leaf yellowing...well on 2 of them...one doesn't yellow no matter what...it's the one that has the spots..but I can see the roots trying to grow through the bottom holes of the pot and when you touch the soil it is solid...you cant move any of it without tearing roots...I actually just keep kinda ripping little holes...because the plant has enough roots...having this many is killing them....and it is a lack of aeration in a root bound pot that causes issues...so I poke holes all in the top of the root mass...lol. One is in a 7 gallon pot and 1 is in 5 gallon, and the other is in like a weird shaped 4 gallon, but it is the least suffering...they are all small but big...I employ a lot of LST and I tend to make them too low most of the time...so very short and wide...anyway I end up doing this everytime...so I am not sure why I continue to grow roots all through flower...I have one strain that doesn't do this....but all my others always end up rootbound and I usually transplant, but this time I am almost out of time...one is a few days til done...the next is like a week after that, and then 2 weeks after that one is the last one...so.....I am going to leave them rootbound and just keep poking holes til the end...

oooohhhh...and aside from yellowing perhaps more than usual? actual I have only run 1 of these strains before...and it is the one that doesn't yellow, but the other 2 have been yellowing, but perhaps they are just doing what they are supposed to do...anyway...they are all growing and making buds just fine...but do remove any lower or inner leaves as these aren't really being used for anything really...and it is more plant telling the roots to root...

and the roots aren't supposed to grow as much in flower as in veg...and one of my strain grows that way...but all the other ones I have grown so far seem to continue churning out roots til I kill them...bottom watered all of them the other day and when I took them out of the water they all had roots out of the pot and into the bin I used to water them in...

ya know what...might be because i am giving them too much bloom nutes...I got my overuse of nitrogen under control but now I find myself being careless with the bloom ferts...lol. I am still a newb...I learn because I try new things and mess stuff up...and then I can tell other people how and where I went wrong...or how I messed this up but it turned out well, or whatever....

It'll all balance out over several grows when u see what amounts of which macro and micro nutes work best during the different phases... U r correct, U may be over-doing it on bloom nutes, which oftentimes still contain N, which may be causing the roots to continue growing like u describe...

i know u sloved ur problem. but another trick.. if sumthin like that ever does happen again... get another pot or a small tub.... make sure there is a few drainage holes in the bottom... then get the pot that the plant is currently in... get sum scissors or a razor blade... and cut the bottom of the pot right ff... go maybe an inch up from the bottom... soo that the bottom of the pot/the roots are showing... make a few small cuts into the roots (to help loosen them up) and then fiill ur new tub with soil... plop the original pot with the cut bottom right in there. and add a lil more soil.. that will give the plant much more room to grow. =D ive done this b4. and it worked great!
