Rootbound during flowering help please??

You can grow a plant pretty damn big in a small pot with no issues. Heres my mother plants in 1 gallon pots vegged for 14 weeks. LOL. They are alot taller now since its been alittle bit since the pics were taken. LOL. Im waiting to take clones and T/P some of these outside into the ground or into 20 gallon grow bags.

Tip: You can just pull the plant right out of the pots and plant into a bigger pot. Just use care and be gentle with her. Add a drop of superthrive per gallon of water. She should be fine. I think you would do more harm to the plant and roots shaking it around and trying to cut into the pots with a razor blade. Alot of work when you can just t/p them no? 2 cents.

i dont understand how you grow like that ,when my plant gets rootbound it stop growing completely what am i doing wrong?

how do u know its root bound maybe its just in flower and not growing anymore... is that u in the pic just wandering.. :)

I dont know. Ive seen 6' plants in 2 gallon pots. Big plants. The roots only determine the size of the fruits. The plants will grow big but if they stay in small pots the buds will be small. I kept them in these 1 gallon pots to stunt the growth but it only worked alitte bit. Damn your hot fence.

thanks you very much i get a lot of that on here,but anyway so if my plant gets rootbound during flowering i'm not gona get much bud,ive grown successful crops before but this one plant i have now grow roots like crazy i dont know what to do.ive been growing it for ages to get maximum bud and now i feel like ive wasted time :cry: any suggestions?

it was in a 25 litre pot before i transplanted it into the 45 litre pot i then let it veg for a week and switched to 12/12,will the extra 20 litres of soil be enough for flowering?

Put it in a properly sized smart or fabric pot. Air pruning reduces the chances of being rootbound during flowering. They are competitively priced and can grow some monster root systems for the amount of medium :peace::blsmoke:

I believe that is what is known as the BOG technique :) I've read that he would take a 1gal container cut out the bottom and put it on his 5gal (or whatever size). Never tried this myself though.

so is the 45 litre pot fine for the whole of lowering? it was in a 25 litre before then i transplanted into a 45 litre so it has 20 litres of fresh soil to grow into for flowering is that enough?

Definitely, if you used any type of myco during the transplant your stretch will be vigorous. What type of light do you have this monster in? Sorry if I read over it in the op.

it under a 250 watts hps in a nice small area i had a 400 but it broke ,it has stretched a bit but not like double the size or anything

A 250 watt should be just fine. I dont know about liters but the rule of thumb is 1 gallon for every month the plant will be in them. 5 month plants get 5 gallon buckets. 3 month plants get 3 gallon buckets. Hope this helps.
