Rootbound?

Two of my top growers started dropping suddenly. This is days after watering and they were perfectly fine until last night its really more the tops that are drooping. They're about 5 weeks from seed in 1.25 gallon pots. Ill put pictures up later. But could it possibly be that they need a bigger home?

Yes that could do it
You will want atleast 5 g imo
5g fabric pots if you can

Yeah the fabric are difficult to pull off
Unless you just cut them open lol
5g is the minimum I recommend. 7g is good
A 5g fabric pot can hold a plant the size of a 7g hard wall pot imo
You should be out of the 1.25g pots after only a few weeks

Hey, are they auto's or photo period? Plastic pots are easier to transplant as roots tend to grow though fabric pots or at the very least cling to them. There are some that have Velcro so you can open them to get plants out easier. How much space do you have for your plants? If growing autos I would say pot up to a 5 gallon fabric pot and leave them. If growing photo period I would get some 3 gallon plastic pots and when the roots fill out move them up to a 5 gallon fabric pot as a final home. You can grow a tree in a 5 gallon pot so I don't see the need for bigger but that's just me. This was in a 5 gallon fabric pot and only 1 plant.20200810_001238.jpg

Shit I already have a bunch of 3 gallon fsbrics I was gonna use gor flower but i gues I can upsize I only have a 4x4 though and 8 phoyoperiods but I feel like most of them will be male. Is there anyway to tell before I flower?

Not really, they show sex when they show sex. Some sooner than others. If you are doing 8 plants in a 4x4 I would use your 3 gallon as the final pots. I have 4 plants currently in 5 gallon and they pack my tent. If your at 5 weeks from seed I would up pot them to 3 gallon and in a day or 2 flip to 12/12. Here are my current 4 in a 4x4 using 5 gallon pots. I could not add another plant if I wanted to.

plants don't get rootbound in fabric pots. The question is what is your medium? (i.e. what are you growing in? if soil, what soil? be specific)

yes. 5 weeks sounds like too long in the 1 gallons. Put them in the 3 gallons.

Fox farm ocean forest and its 5 weeks since it broke ground as a seed but I'm sure most will be male anyway. Either way they look a bit small to me to flower yet I was gonna go probably another 2 weeks before I Flip them since I'll probably end up getting rid of most of them but yeah the 3 gallons will probably the flower pots.

I go into 3 gallons pretty quick. My plants are only in 1 gallons for a couple weeks. Here is a pic of one in a 1 gallon about to go into a 3 gallon.8098238E-8723-4FB8-A314-F46B45392F12.jpeg

So anyways I would go to the 3 or 5gallons as long as your roots are coming out the bottom of the 1 gallons and the fan leaves are hanging over the edges it’s time to transplant.

Transplanting from 3 gallon fabric to a 5 gallon fabric would be a PITA imo I would just put them in their final pots now. Either one will work. If you use the 3 gallon you’ll have to start feeding hydroponically or top dressing sooner than if you use the 5 gallon.

my recommendation for growers using FFOF is that they start in a 5 gallon and leave a few inches of space at the top of the pot and top dress with a couple handfuls of soil every time you water.
 
Yeah ive been experimenting with 3 seeds I found in a haf ounce from a dispensary I'm thinking it might have been a herm and thsese will be female but the first one I went from solo cup to 3 gal fabric pot to see how it would grow and have been top dressing since. I transplanted the two today to 3 gal fabric pots I have 5 og kush that are 1 week younger and I think 2 might be showing signs of being a female but im gonma transplant those sometime this week to the 3 gal pot veg another 2 weeks then flip.

3 gallon is fine if it’s air pots. You’ll get a nice healthy root ball that won’t get bound.
Yes of course the bigger the better but I grow in 3 gallons in a 2x4 and my plants are always good growers.

Preflowers will show as early as 3-4 weeks in my experience.
There’s plenty of articles on what to look for.
