flushing would be very harsh on the roots IMO. I'm betting if he unpotted one of them the roots would already be toast. The stem is looking a little sickly as well, kind of yellow/brown instead of a healthy green.

So just replanted and the roots had not grown out of the jiffy pods anymore then when first transplanted. Roots looked good and white tho still. Figured if they were dieing anyway might as well try

Thanks. They looked rough and I didn't want to say flush it without somebody else agreeing because the roots are so stressed out already. I just figured the roots are frying in that mix.

Watering by sticking finger in the top to feel if dry or by picking pot up to see if it is light . But that is for a growing plant I didn't know if younger rooted clones need it more frequently or less frequently the normal plants.

Just because the top of soil is dry, doesn't mean the entire volume of soil is dry. It's better to go by the weight of the container. What did you transplant into this time? The same soil?
