Rooting Solution??

I just joined rollitup, but in case anyone is interested, I can help this chap out methinks :) This response might be a tad late, but might help out other people
with a tight budget. We've all been there, right? I'm Canadian and I learned this recipe form a native Algonquin Indian from Ontario. Its a very basic rooting promoter. I'm not a horticulturist by any means, but there is indeed a scientific basis for it and it works. Its called many things, but I call it "Willow Tonic." To make it, any species of Salix genus will do. For example, "White", "Black," "Pussy" and "Weeping" willows are so damn common all over the world, there are hybrids of these species on almost every continent. In other words, if someone really wanted try this out, its very possible whether you're in Australia, Russia or Canada. To make a gallon, you should use about 4 cups of pencil-diameter size twigs, cut into 3-4 inch sections. I boil distilled or purified water in a stock pot then and dump the cuttings just as I turn off the boil. I let the cuttings steep overnight. Don't discard the cuttings! Transfer everything into a suitable jar with screw-top lid and store in the refrigerator. This will keep about 3 months. You can make this solution year round. You may chose to collect cuttings in the winter or freeze them like I do. I leave my cannabis cuttings in a small plastic cup with this solution for 72 hours and then I transfer to a very loose, well drained, moist and peaty soil. Of course, there are other factors and "rules" you must abide by and I won't go into those in too much detail. I'm assuming that you made a sterile cutting in the proper manner, at the proper time and that you have some other equipment like a propagator with electric heating pad underneath. Also of note, I use the leftover solution of this willow tonic as the actual plant watering solution of my new clones. Willows contain compounds like IBA and auxins which are both known root promoters (which are in higher concentrations of commercial rooting gel/powder) and with known antiseptic properties (antifungal, antiviral and anti-bacterial) which help fragile cuttings take hold. I've spoken to some growers who have experimented with distillates (made at home) of this stuff with great success. In terms of success rate: When I grow and clone Greenhouse Seeds' White Widow, I have achieved 90% success in a one year period. 18 plants rooted successfully out fo 20. I've had roots forming from 7 days onwards. Once transferred to a propagator, I monitor my cuttings closely. I mist the leaves, make sure the environment is humid,
ensure some ambient lighting is available and I blow into the box 2-3 daily to infuse the cuttings with CO2. Hope this works for all of you folks also. Cheers!

1. crush up aspirin and add to glass of water and root plant for couple days in liquid then transfer

2. use soft light that you can put close to object clones.

3. keep clones and the solution warm.

4. after few days, transfer to cup with with some kind of tech soil.

5. I am going to say to put holes in your cup to allow air.

6. now, cut up polyester filling scraps. this is the stuff you get from a sleeping bag or certain pillows. pull apart the poly-fill and then mix in soil. You now have a synthetic filler/soil compound that won't poison you plants and will simultaneously stay moist and allow air and increase the potential for warmth saturation.

7. cut off the clone.

8. place clone in solution. and let soak. {OR}

9. crush up aspirin and add to soil and just add clone and keep aired, moist, and warm.

{OR}

10. remove object clone from mommy. strip away unwanted/unnecessary leaves and stems.

11. cut the bottom of the stem at a downward angle with a very sharp and very sterile blade. razors work well. don't do this stoned unless you have more twig to screw up.

12. if not using the aspirin method, get some facial wash from someone with the active ingredient (SALICILIC ACID) I have nutragena facial wash and I use it by cutting stem at an angle and coating the stem with the facial wash by applying with my fingers. I use a rubber gloves to avoid infecting my plants or to avoid KILLING MYSELF with poison.

13. Place in tech soil (polyfill soil) keep in a warm place and after a few days or week, begin to give it an hour of darkness, and keep it warm....the f'ing water gets pretty cold.

14. while keeping plants close to light. maybe a 2700k cfl for financially challenged folk, or anyone else for that matter, and put no closer or much further than about six inches. You are trying to find the distance that brings the plant close to the light without burning it up and keeping it warm without burning it up.

15. for you I have devised this method if you are having trouble keeping the clone warm: cut the top of a milk jug off so that you can put a cup of soil on top of the hole in the jug, without the cup falling into the jug. Now cut off the bottom of the jug and place into it the inside of the jug under the cup, and low heat light bulb, a low watt cfl/cwl will work and have an environment for your clone. if you are using seeds, use a plastic soda bottle for a humidor but cutting off the bottle in half and placing soil and object inside and then replace the the top with a seal. In fact, this is the best possible way to feed c02 to a plant and you would do it by blowing/exhaling into the terrarium with a straw...

I am truly sorry that most people do not listen or read the blog before answering your good questions with bad answers. good luck and check my other posts...you will be floored by the technology I can offer you. for instance, place dry ice in a glad bag with your harvested weed and watch the plant get stronger after being cut....it can be 10-100 x/times more potent.
