Hi there i have a big bang plant currently 9 weeks old (veg) and due to switch 12/12 tomo.
she is in a 10l pot and is 2 feet tall but i came home tonight to find her highest roots are sitting just above the soil (about 1cm).
I am gussing this is due to her roots out growing the pot but will she be ok to flower in this existing pot or do i need to transplant.
I covered the roots with some soil from around the edges of the pot for now - ps she had 1 litre of plain water last night.

Please help??????

One of two problems... either your soil is ultra dry and the roots are searching for moisture, or your roots mass is too big for the pots you have them in.

I would transplant into a much bigger pot..immediately. :)

New pot first if you have the room go up to 5 gallon then no issue of root bound and tons of room to grow. And what is your watering cycle? are you sure your giving her enough she looks healthy so if you havent increased it a little bit then try that.

EDIT i read in your journal you were using 50 soil 50 perlite is that still your ratio? if so cut your perlite down to 20% there might not be enough soil in your pots lol

thanks for the feedback guys - the reason she isnt bigger is she spent 5 weeks in my starter cab under just 63w cfl's - was only meant to be 2 weeks in there but cos i had dud seeds in my first pack (on ly one sucess - since had a replacement pack sent from GHS) i had to order more seeds (5 x WW from seedsman) and wait till they caught up a bit, so she has only had 4 weeks under the 600w hps. I had no big pots so drilled holes in a 10l plastic bin for her - i have since bought 5 14l pots (this is what my 2 x WW are in and i nearly transplanted the BB into that the other night but when i put the 10l pot inside the 14l one it didn't look that much bigger so i left it - do you think i should transplant into this size as its all i have at the moment? water cycle i have a soil moisture tester that i probe low down in the pot to see when dry then water. Every other watering is with biobizz grow at 2ml per litre.

sorry as for the 50/50 perlite that was well early on for my seeds - now she is in mostly allmix with about 20% perlite mate.
