once they get light they turn green, photosynthesis.

humm, idk i have some clones i just took that for some reason started growing roots 1/4"+ from where the stems comes out of the rockwool. and they are in 24/7 light from a 6500k clf. so they got little pyramids of roots coming down to the rockwool from the lower section of the stem. Sooooo, i thinking it has more to do with the moisture then the light, agian just my 2 cents but these roots are doing fine in the light for the last week. i removed the humidity dome last night so we will see how they do after that.
