Keep an eye out for a set of used press plates on ebay and Craigslist. I don't know what the forum rules are here about solicitation. But, with all of these people that are getting into making rosin, you're going to have folks who started with a small set of plates and want to increase their volume and are willing to unload their old plates. A friend of a friend recently got a set for under $150. If you could swing that, you could pickup a 6 ton H-frame press from Freight Harbor (you'll need a ram adapter...but they're cheap) and you'd have a solid starting unit. I've seen the 6 ton units on sale at Harbor Freight for $80-90. Then, if you're into it, upgrade to a Dake or Baleigh, for just a little more money. Anyway, good luck.
