ROUND 1 - 430 HPS vs 500w Blacksta - Kosher Kush FIGHT!

So I will be doing a side by side with these 2 lights.
Im using 5 gallon pickle buckets and yes they still smelled like pickles after washing them 4 times
I'm using SunShine Mix #4 as my soil and nothing else
For Nutes im using the AN line up Micro,Grow,Bloom,BloodBud,BigBud,OverDrive
I'm using plain old tap water
I have a 6inch duct fan that attached to a Carbon Filter(all from Gotham hydroponics) for my Ventilation that goes straight outside.
Temps are between 75-81F and Humidity floats around 50%
This is my 2nd grow as I completely fucked up my Vanilla Kush cause I followed the instructions on the bottle which was a big mistake I do 1/4 of what they tell me now and having great results.
Week 1

Week 4 and transplanted into there new home

Week 2 on Flowering.

The last picture has 1 hobbit in the front with 2 Vanilla Kush with 1 week left before I harvest. The VK are in rough rough shape so dont judge those where my first grow. The Kosher is my 2nd and alot better. Super healthy they grew almost 4 times there size when I put them in 12-12. Pretty impressed that all the Kosher Kush seeds almost looked like Clones all very identical.

Any input would be great, Like what do I do if I Overdose them on nutes? Would you just flush them?

Looks great. Ive had my eye on the Kosher Kush for a while. Do you have the HPS and LED in seperate rooms or together?

Also im not sure if its compatible with what your using for nutes. But you could check out Foxfarm Sledgehammer it works great and is used for flushing excess nutes.

As for the pickle smell in the 5gals... Nothing you can do. Impossible.

The LED and HPS are side by side, so far the nutes are working out good, they are looking alot better then the Vanilla Kush i did my first time.

I find that the LED is producing faster bud development then the HPS. I must say the genetics of the Kosher Kush are top notch all look like clones from a mother plant, not like Vanilla Kush from Barney's which was garbage 3 different pheno types from just 5 seeds.
I tired separating the LED and HPS with a Hobbit and BBxNL in the middle of them. I wish I had 2 tents but just dont have the space.

Definitely sub'd wanted to scoop up some kosher beans from herbies seeds but wasnt sure, cant wait to see your girls florish

I knew a fictional character once with a 1000watt HPS and a 240 watt LED grow... Never did a grow without the 240 led so I cant make any definitive statements. But near the end this person took all the plants that were similar height and placed them all under the LED and used a bit of string to gently "Bunch" them together a bit and set the LED like a half inch away and just let em shine... I couldnt help but imagine them wearing sunglasses

Also ive heard great things about Barneys Vanilla Kush.. had no experience.. But just because a strain has multiple phenos doesnt mean that one of them isnt gunna be a beast... Just sad to see the more undesirable phenos go... And think of what could of been </3 lol

Cant wait for a smoke report on the Kosher Kush and Vanilla Kush.. They are definatley both on the top of my "To-Do" list.

Hey wanted to post some more pics cause the fatten up pretty nice in 4 days but my pics wont load.

LED is kicking HPS ass but we'll see what happen's in the end.

Vanilla Kush isnt easy to grow, its super sensitive to nutes, its mainly staiva(got one that was indica but only got 24inchs tall), they say 60-65days really its more like 80-90 days or longer.

I'm starting to get a little yellowing of the big ass fan leaves and 2 of them have the leafs curling up which i've never seen before. Can anyone tell whats up with this please! Seems like everytime i get too 4 weeks the plants are acting up.

DAY 32

LED Kosher - Its just cover in crystals but 1 has a cal/mag, thinking its my PH in my water or I over feed on the nutes again, I flushed it twice so far.( i used ozone water i found some good things about if, it has 48ppm Cal, and 32ppm mag)

HPS - Same problem as the LED, just Flushed it

My problem, the tips are crispy and slightly yellow with some darkish grey spots on them.

I will take some pics in the Normal light so you can see the Crystal production on these ladies. Just Crazy.

Day 37
I found out that I had heat stress not cal/mag, so I raised the light so they are about 22 inches from the canopy. Also raised my temp gauge at the top of the canopy which read 27.4C/81F and 50% humidity.

Kosher with a little Heat Stress, dont know what else is could be. I cleaned her up trimmed all the dead-crispy leaves.

The Hobbit is 12-14 inches shorter then the Kosher and its happy and green.

Day 42
They have gotten fatter, i flushed for a week and couple day, hitting them with some ferts today and ill do it one more time in a week then flush for 2 weeks and they should be done. Put up better pics in 4 days.

three weeks to chop! im sure ur getting anxious they should be blowing up here soon rep+

DAY 65
So I flushed for 2 weeks and its in the dark for 3 days. Seems like LED's take longer since I still have a ton of white hairs on the LED but the HPS is finished and alot tighter then the LED. I wonder any other LED grower has the same experience. Anyways i still had problem with this grow but its turned out the best so far. The Kosher Kush smells like sweet skunky gasoline its pretty funky.

It took 10 days longer then what it says on the website and only 12/12 so my yield wasn't so good if i did 18/6 or 24 but damn she gets frosty really nice. The smoke is really nice and decent nothing over the top.
