Route of ducting to outdoors

Hi,

I'm soon to be starting my first grow and will be using 75x75x160 tent alongside the AC infinity S4 fan. The route from the room the grow tent is in to the outdoors, is through the wall right beside the bottom of the tent. So my options are for the ducting to exit out the top of the tent and then drop vertically down to the ground, or to exit near the bottom of the tent and straight out through the wall. Are there any reasons to go for one over the other? I plan for the carbon filter and fan to be at the top of the tent either way.

Thanks

Intake from bottom, exhaust from top when in average room temps. Opposite if in cooler temps. The extended ducting from the top to your exhaust will increase resistance on a minimum scale. I suggest a duel gravity louver in set up if you experience cold winter temps. Back flow and wind gusts can cause some issues.

Sure I'll get flack. But how I do it with good outcomes.

Good luck.

The tent is in an outbuilding in the UK which is in use during the day and so temps are ~18C, but cool at night (could get as low as 0C). With that in mind how would you recommend the intake and exhaust are positioned? I will definitely get a gravity louver so thanks for that suggestion!

Those lows are scary. I'd run my lights at night and vent from the bottom to draw heat from upper levels of room. A bit more issues than I have here. All I got.

Thanks, I shall do that and hope for the best. I'm going to be using an autoflower and from what I understand I can have these on 18/6 for the whole grow so hopefully that'll generate enough heat to keep them happy too

Welcome aboard. We idiots on this side of the pond are more than portrayed of late. Ignore the blokes and laugh at the jokes. Un real knowledge running about here.

Hopefully I'll be here long enough to share knowledge too. Though if it turns out my setup isn't as discrete in smell as I hope then the girls will be rehomed to some local farmland and I'll keep buying bags from Dave

Pesky scent issues. Good carbon filters. Also get your plants off the floor. Basics I overlooked.

The carbon filter I'm getting is the AC Infinity 4" - it has good Amazon reviews..? I'm relying on this to practically eliminate smell through flowering, drying and trimming (I think I could squeeze into the tent to do the trim), and I'll be tactical about when the tent is opened. Oo yeah good shout to raise the plants to the light rather than lowering the light to help with the heat issues
