Rubbermaid Heat Issues

Hey all so I have 2 rubbermaids stacked ontop of eachother, they're black and spray painted black then white, then coated in mylar. I have a 4.5 in intake fan mounted in the middle of the bottom 'maid, then in the cover of the top 'maid I have a passive exhaust with a DIY carbon filter made from pen holders and nylon (with carbon) from wall mart. Directly above of that in the cover of the top maid I have a 120 mm exhaust pc fan. Before I put the exhaust pc in I had 2 passive DIY carbon-filters. The temps were a steady 84-86, now I have the pc fan in and I'm waiting to see the temps stabilize so I can see how they are now with the fan. I know that once I have plants in there growing the temps should rise, any experianced rubbermaid growers on here that could give me a ruff ball park of how much higher in F the temp should go with 2-3 plants in there? O and by the way i'll be using 4 65k's and 2 27k's for veg and 427k's and 2 65k's for flower. Though at the moment I have all 6 65's in there just to feel out the temps, any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance guys.

i've never had a problem with mine getting too warm.... My grow room has run as high as 90 degrees.

But best temps are 60 degrees at night and 75 degrees during the day...That's what I keep my room at now, and have great success. So, i'd suggest shooting for that.

are you worried that your totes are going to melt? I don't think you can get it hot enough in your grow room for that....At that temp your plants would die.

The size of your fans is irrelevant and so is the color temp of your lights. Even knowing CFM ratings and wattage I would still think that anyone offering "ball park figures" is just pulling numbers out of the air.

Why don't you just run it empty for a while and record your temps and troubleshoot any problems you may have.

Thx dude, no i'm not worrying about it melting, I'm trying to shoot for the 60's dark, mid 70's light like your talking about.

Thx for the input bro, yea i've been doing that for the past 48 hours now, I actually think that my problem is that I'm an ABSOLUTE idiot and didn't glue and seal the top tote to the bottom totes lid, lol. I'm sure that's the prob, no air pressure inside to drag hot air out the top. I've liquid nails'd them together, and silicone caulked/sealed over that. I'm waiting now for it all to dry then I'm gonna run it again and hopefully my problem'll be solved. Thanks to both of you 2 for trying to help me out. +rep to both of you

Can't wait to see how it turns out, this is the last thing in my way till I can start my grow. Got my soil and nutes, seeds (Fem'd Bubblicious) and pots on deck just waiting. *rubs hands together greedily*

Check out my album, at 1st my tubs were gettin 2 warm, then the mother got 2 tall... So built up the walls between the 2 tubs with white cardboard. I'm not 2 worried about light leakin out, she's gettin almost all of the light plus it adds 2 the ambience of my living room. LOL.

you dont need to seal it all up like that. i would recommend you move the intake fan to the top so it blowing directly on the lights and preferably have the exhaust on the opposite side. i had a 120mm fan for intake and exhaust and i was running mid 70's, now my intake fan took a crap and im still fine it tops out at about 85. i have 6 cfls and a 50w hps.

Damn, that's a good idea having the fan opposite the lights with exhaust on the opposite side, wish I had thought of that :( lol, unfortunately with the way everything's cut up and set up I don't think I can swing that with this box. I'm def going to bear that in mind for future projects.

yea i took me a minute to figure that one out and i had cut up one box to much so i taped the parts i cut out back on and use the bottom box that had no holes.
