Had all this set up over the weekend

Inside the tent there is Filter>Fan>Ducting>MagnumXXXL>Ducting>Up and out the tent and exits the property

So i decided to give it a trial run today

Left it on for 10hrs on 600w mode - came home and the readings were 90F and 30% humidity

I had set it to 24degrees C on the fan too - lol

I tried turning the fan temp control down lower to like 19C - checked an hour later...

Im still getting 90F and 30% Humidity

???

Bear in mind this is after 10hrs of HID heat.... but then we need to run them 12/12 anyway - i know it always gets hot at the end of the grow but i did think this would do the trick.

Makes me want to run co2 ;)

I run a 600w dimmable ballast - im experimenting with running it on a 50% setting to see if it makes any difference

The spec for the fan says it moves 700m3/hr, maybe its not enough - who knows

whats the temp in the room your tent is in? if your ambient temps are high so will the temps in your tent,i had the same problems
also get a 4inch inline intake fan if you haven't this should help mate

ambient bedroom temp is about 24C

window boarded up and fresh air pulls through the bottom where i have left a hole at the skirting board and exit vents are located at the top

Lowered the wattage to 50% of the 600w and we now have 83F and 29% Humidity - big difference already

I just thought it would have worked a bit better with the way i had it all set up - but then again i know how hot these lamps get after 12hrs of use!!!

Maybe it was better at the start of the day but i wasn't about to see it

I was just testing a new set-up - only one way forward - more research.

I have a magnum XXXL, that's my preference. Ill need to do a bit of experimentation to get the temps where i want them

But im guessing when its winter - everything will run perfect and in summer it will be hell, ambient outside temperatures make a massive difference, even in a properly set up growroom

I hear you but you cant use an intake with these fans as it messes with the temp sensor - advised to be used as extraction only

I have tried it on a few settings now and after about 10hrs HID lighting on the various settings of the ballast (50% 75% and 100%) (600w hps) - i am getting about 30% humidity and temps in the low 80's to 90F on full 600w Considering my room is all set up properly and it must be ambient temps causing this - do you think i should go for the add a CO2 Tank option?

come on come on - no answers?... the air coming into the room through the skirting board doesnt fall below 60F and the exiting air is too high up to make a difference like i say everything is set up properly....

ello m8 i av a 5 inch ruk also does not quite do the job in my grow tent so i brought in fresh air from the nearest window ducted in to the tent this helped straight away going from 31c to 29 then i added a cooltube and this dropped it to 27 so 2 adjustments got the heat down to a livable 27c, now winter is looming and the weather is getting colder then all the issues will disapear, as regards using intake fan with out take fan as long as the intake is just a small say 4 inch 230cm/h then should not have any probs,! in my opinion if u can have a freshair intake from the outside if this option is adapable for ur grow area then i would think doin it will give ur plants a more complete enviroment to live in along with a couple of oscilating fans, eh presto !! my ruk as a built in thermo also this wont help now as the fan is strugling on full power to keep the heat down to ur desired 24c so it will just go full power untill temps drop then it comes into its own it just simply slows right down, so this will pay off in winter ! we had a hot summer so i had to open up the tent to let the heat out as my ruk wasent doing the job, but like i sed introduce outside fresh air throw a cooltube in there and ur deffo good for a 4 to 5 c less and its that little bit like a sed that just made it livable and she yielded up very nice indeed !!!

PS try and not grow in the hottest 3 months of the year if u cant controll the temps, still leaves nine moons to grow on !! good look man hope it goes well for ya. peace !
