thats how you get the hay weed
i know because i did it for years
feeding the right amount of nutrient at each stage of growth, and not letting salt buildup is what will give you the best product

Anyway this is a bit philosophical in the this is the whole philosophy of growing. It's hard to argue against however it doesn't proove your point of having large run off reduces salt build up. In fact quiet the opposite as it can be deemed you don't need run off at all to prevent salt build up if it's fed correctly......

Old post, I know... But ran across it doing some forum searching. I've seen your plants and they always look wonderful. I'm still fairly new to coco, but I personally am a heavy feeder (1.8-2.5ish) ec, but I drain to waste and get plenty of runoff.
Honestly, I'm beginning to really think about how much nutrients I am wasting and I dont like it. I've considered feeding with your style (low ec, little to no runoff). So what EC/PH do you consistently feed at?? Do you ever have calmag deficiencies feeding at a lower ec? Or do you make up for it by adding extra? I tend to get calmag issues specifically magnesium when I don't feed at least full strength. My tap water comes out at 160-190 ec, so its on the lower side.
Any other tips you can give me? Appreciate it brother.
