Running low on beans.

Had a stash of seeds I've been using for years and finally getting low. No more Mexican jam packed with seeds in my area to re-up with.

Been using the same germination method I have used for years. Seeds covered in wet toilet paper stored between 2 plates.

I'm not having a lot of luck germinating them lately, they just sit there for days with no tap root to be found.

Could I have held on to them too long and maybe they aren't viable? I used to have about a 90% success rate. Its more like 10% now.

Prob past their best.

I had the exact same problem this year. Been using the same stash of seeds. I used all that I had left, almost 30 seeds and got two to germ. Kind of hoping for a male and female this year so I can reup on my bank again. They lasted a long time, almost 8 years, so I know it wasn't how I was storeing them. Guess they just got to old.
