Running space heater help!/?

I have to run a space heater when lights are off (most days) to control temps, at best. It is one of those little ones that glow red/orangish with coils, and it kinda lights up (a little) some of my grow room with that ambient redish glow. Will this effect my vegging plants (18/6) in their dark period? I have the heater facing away from them and they do not in any way get the direct "glow" on them.

In 2 weeks I plan on doing something different for heat(don't know what yet) for sure before flower.
but for now would this be okay for my plants?

I have no other option for any other kind of heater r hearing option l, as I am on a budget as no $ to put in.

Think the little ambient glow (facing away from crop) would be a problem during flowering? I'm assuming so. Anyone with experience with these kind of space heaters? During veg or flowering??

yes during flower the glow from the heater will effect the plant, i have an outside inside grow. and have to use space heaters when in winter but i try and swap times so at night i run my flower time when its coldest outside and there dark period is during the sunny day or whats left of them. i started with the older coil type and ended up with hermie's every time and couldn't figure what was going on until it broke and started using a newer one with no coils. in a shiny room any light will be bright when all other lights are out.. hell i even put black tape over my surge protector lights..

What about for veg? Would it be ookay to use? Since it is still vegging? When I start (or right before) flowering I plan or getting a heater that didn't emit any light

Look in to passive heating, if you remember many yrs ago there was what best be called an oil filed heater, which later turn out to be dangerous, today they are much better sufisticated (spelling?), I have one in my room and they are safe and work excelant, no glowing heating coils or fans which some have, you can look into them at your local home depot, it's the best form of heating a room, somewhat like a radiator, the one I use has a timer so I can set it to turn on or off at any time of day or night.

Awesome, thx ill def look into these types of heaters, it's actually just what I was thinking. Also with a timer would be perfect

Also..... If this this glow is not a problem at lights off during veg, (assuming it isen't)would it be okay to face the heater twords the crop? At a distance but not right on them? Or should I just keep it as is and facing away? It def minimizes the glow on the plants

Abyone with any experience wi

I run a resistance heater in all cycles with no ill effects but it is not particularly bright at all.

it wont matter in veg. during flower, if you have an intake, put heater outside next to intake. just a thought.

Personally I wouldn't face the heater towards the plants, it could "cooked" them, drying them out, as said, the glow should be no problems during veg, might not cause problems during bloom cycle, but that's just a guess.

I've grown four cycles with a pretty big light leak (veg tent inside flower room), and have not had any hermie problems. I have read about a "moon cycle", I believe this is why I can get away with this. There are led's on my CO2 PPM meter also that are very bright as well, as well as led's on the split mini ac.

Sorry I cant answer your light question

But I must remind you how dangerous those heaters can be , Lots of fires started every year from those heaters . You are not even susposto leave them alone during operation . I hope you have a decent smoke alarm at least
