just grew one a few weeks back and i must say it was a winner it was very tall though ! she dident start giving out till l8 in flower initaly she looked like she wernt goin to produce much but by week 6 of flower she exploded the buds r dense and the smoke is beautifull and a gr8 stone also got roughly 2 dry ounces off a untouched plant grown in soil under 600 watt hps !! excellent choice man ! mine was also from barneys ! good look with the lst she may need that, lol !!!!!!Evening good people of RIU!
As the tittle says, this is going to be a single plant stealth grow, although at the moment it's not very stealthy since the cabinet has not yet been finished, but that should be completed over the next couple of days over the weekend, or Monday at most (I will post detailed pics of the build)
The Grow space is a 3 drawer small office document filing cabinet, the measurements are 1 x 1 and it is 2 feet high, so that's a total of 1 sq foot and 2 cubic feet, pretty small but I have seen some good results from such small spaces.
With the space being so restricted, this grow will be confined to a single plant, and the star of the evening is none other than the controversial Barney's Farm Pineapple Chunk. Keeping in mind that this strain tends to get taller than advertised, for this end I'm going to LST and SCroG this baby up the moment it grows to 5 or 6 inches.
The Medium: I'm using a potting soil designated for young plants / seedlings. Composed of Bog Peat, 10% perlite and other stuff. The soil doesn't have the required nutrients to sustain a plant for long, so for this end I have amended my soil with the following:
Containers: Since I'm a bit restricted on space, I decided to keep the pot small, the final container will be a 3.5 Gallon Air Pot that has been modified to be low and wide.
- Added Cal-Mag: Since I do not have access to Epson salts, Dolomite lime etc, I have substituted by crushing some Calcium + Vit D tablets, along with Magnesium Aspertate supplements (over the counter supplements from the local pharmacy). Thanks to Perkele for the tip! (Make sure to check out his wonderful grow too!)
- Added some Powdered Egg Shells.
- Added 500g of red earth (A clay heavy local soil in which the local olive trees thrive).
- Added some home made Bone Meal: From oven baked chicken thigh bones (after making chicken stock)
- Added some more Perlite (to improve water drainage) since the Clay and the Meal messed up the texture and retention of the soil mix.
Nutes and Ferts: Gonna keep it simple, using Advanced Hydroponics of Holland Dutch Master - Grow - Bloom - Micro. Also have a sample of Atami - Bloombastic that I intend to use instead of Bloom for the last two feedings.
Lighting: 4 x 23 Watt CFLs, for a total lumen output of 6400 Lumen. Cool daylight for Veg. Warm White for Flowering.
Format of this journal: I'm going to go day by day while keeping track of the number of days during the various stages of the grow.
So, Let's get growing!!!
Hi folks,
The large post didn't come, I thought to myself why put up a huge wall of text?
Instead I decided to make you a video commentary
This video covers everything that was lost due to the recent attach on vBulletin.

Thanks for stopping by mate, glad you liked the videoReal nice video...you take care of the yellowing leaves since then? any idea what's causing it?
Im thinking some nature sounds.... some birdsong... some rushing water.... the sound of Ganja Growing! lolHahahahaha sure babe, glad you liked it, next time I let you pick the music
Hey Gunny, I just got back from vacation and had my first chance to try out my Pineapple Chunk harvest, properly dried. Had to chop it just before vacation and hung it all to dry in my cabinet with the exhaust fan turned on low for the last 2 weeks. Oh my fuckin god! Got fuckin wasted on about 4 good hits through the vaporizer.
At first I thought that the stuff wasn't dry yet, because when I crumbled part of a nug between my fingers it felt really wet. But then I realized that the wetness was resin, not water. Really oily stuff. Nice and stinky, too. The first hit through the vaporizer surprised me with thick smoke that was hard to hold in because I had that strong urge to cough. After the third hit I felt a powerful rush through my legs and already started to feel happy inside. Once I got the full effect, I had a strong head high and also a good body stone. I almost lost my balance a few times I was so baked.
And it tasted a lot like Lemon Pledge furniture polish! I never had pot that tasted like that before, but I heard about good OG's tasting like it sometimes. You could also say that it's similar to diesel fuel, but Lemon Pledge is closer. (If I hadn't grown it myself, I would have worried that it was soaked in some nasty chemical. But the weird taste is completely natural.)
Anyway, this Pineapple Chunk stuff is really strong!!! I think you'll be happy with yours once it's ready to smoke. I probably should have started out with only 1 or 2 hits, because I hardly had anything during my vacation, just a little pot tincture that I made so I could get it through customs. I fell asleep pretty fast last night and don't remember everything too clearly. Good medicine if you have pain or insomnia like I do.
Thanks for the input mate, yeah that's true, lower leaves are getting jack shit light cos the canopy is growing denser at the screen....I guess at one point I will trim everything below the screen, just leaving the tops above.Hey man Just stopped by saw your video NICE!!!. my GUESS is that the leaves on the under side are receiving way less amount of light than the top sites so are dieing/yellowing. I have two plants I did Lst on and the massive fan leaves underneath are just dieing/yellowing cuz they get zero light. It seems to be the problem add least and it has happened to all of my plants so far, but it could be something else im just giving you an idea
My cinderella 99 did it too when she grew really thick during flowering and the lower sites couldn't revieve any light so they just yellowed and died off. At a certain point the leaf is just useless sitting underneath the canopy. cant absorb any light so the plant just kills the leaf
Yup, not even cured yet. I should have a chance to jar it up tonight now. Pretty damn strong stuff for being uncured. Maybe even stronger than my LSD pot was after curing. I'll post some pics that I took of it all drying before I went on vacation and hopefully get the total dry weight tonight. Lots of stuff to do after coming home from vacation.Welcome back bro and I hope you had a nice trip, where did you take your vacation?
You just air dried it for two weeks and smoked without curing it? Glad to hear you got pleasantly surprised by it's stickiness, I'm sure after you give it a cure for a month or so it will taste even more amazing ^^
I'm really happy for you that your bud turned out fine Post a couple of pics of the dried bud on your journal so we can check them out
Thanks for the nice informative smoke report
