Runtz ~ Barney Farms ~ 2 plants ~ Indoors ~ START DATE 1/1

Lots of good info here on sips. No gnats, and no over/under watering. First post on the thread is a 5 gallon bucket sip. I use 17 gallon totes for mine.

Interesting thanks!

I thought about doing the drip irrigation so it technically does not feed from the top but the drip emitter is like down the side of the bucket releasing water...

get the same vibe from SIP to DRIP

Almost. The sip has a reservoir built into the bottom, so when the roots hit the water, you get hydro style growth. There is an air gap between the water and the medium that keeps the roots from drowning. Never have to ph anything anymore. Just plain water and dry amendments. I don't even lift the lid once it's shut, not until harvest

The lid to the main bucket you mean in reference to getting rid of the gnats ?

Right. Once I put the lid on my tote, it doesn't come off until harvest. But I'm in a 17 gallon tote. 10g soil, 7 gal water. In a 5gal bucket, you'll have to topdress at least twice.

combined to one post since not much has happened same stuff every day at this point. Refilling humidifier, misting the plants sometimes water in a little water.

I think there is less flys but not sure. Sticky’s are always full!

attached photos over the last couple days. Growing up fast

I would. If you are still catching full stickys, they are still boning laying and hatching. Keep it up for 3 weeks to disrupt the lifecycle sufficiently
