PS: to all the people that think only a mechanic knows how to find a problem . Ever since 1994 they had a plug under the steering wheel. Just plug in the diagnosis tool and it will give you a code. take the code and go to a chart and it will tell you what the problem area is and likely causes.
Oh yea did i mention they are only $30 for a basic model .
Now you may say well i still wont be able to fix the problem even though i know what it is. However , when is the last time you heard a mechanic say yea all we have to do is repair "bla". They don't repair anything any more its always " yea well you are gonna need another one of these." Simple bolt on bolt off young grasshopper.
The only thing you really cant do by yourself is body work and fabrication. But if you know how to use a wrench you can fix the majority of car problems.
Yes, thank you, I know about the check engine codes. The point is, I don't want to fix cars. If I wanted to fix cars, that is what I would do. I prefer to pay someone who likes fixing cars to fix my car.
