My local dispensary (Magnolia Wellness) posted this and I'm reposting because a showing needs to be made at the upcoming County Supervisors meeting. I can't get out of work for this, but am hoping enough folks show up to make a strong statement!

This Tuesday, December 6th at 2:15pm Sacramento County supervisors will hear a zoning code amendment that would in essence ban Medical Marijuana in the county!!!!

Last week the planning commission sent a request to deny the amendment but it is up to the supervisors discretion to accept that recommendation or not. This will be a very important hearing for Sacramento please attend!!! We need your support!!!

AGENDA
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Yea, I don't see anything specifically about medical marijuana, but there is indeed some sort of zoning issue being discussed at 2.15pm (wonder if that's a coincidence lol). The part about 'federal law' seems to be what would create a problem for Sacto dispensaries:

56.
2:15 PM - 11-ZOB-00183 - (COUNTY-WIDE)
ZONING CODE AMENDMENT

COUNTY OF SACRAMENTO - located County-wide.

ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NOS.:
County-Wide

ENVIRONMENTAL DOC.:
Exempt

REQUEST:
The County Planning Commission recommends denial of the following request:

An amendment to the Sacramento County Zoning Code to prohibit any uses inconsistent with State or Federal Law, or both.

Say I was to attend this meeting. What could/should I say? "I agree with the planning commission's request that this amendment be scrapped."

Has anyone actually attended such a meeting and felt like their input was valued? What could I say other than I need access to medicine?

Didn't go, and THIS HAPPENED

Seems quite terrible on the surface, but it's a County measure regarding unincorporated areas, so Sacramento, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova and Citrus Heights aren't affected. So while some of the OGs like Grass and Green Solutions might be unaffected, it seems like it's going to be ever harder to get medicine safely in Sacto.

It's a fucking shame to see Sacramento cave in to the feds like this. I can still grow smoke, though. No worries.

They really snuck this thru the backdoor. I don't tknow the ins and outs of what they did except Sac County will follow federal laws when it comes to dispensaries (or anything else) So as far as the county and medical patients, it's still ok to grow? Or has that even been addressed?

I think that this is only on dispensaries at the moment. They stepped in a big pile last time they tried to mess with actual patients. I see them working on regulations for personal grows in the next couple years at the most. :(

Also I think that Magnolia Wellness being in OV is an unincorporated area and I can see them having to do something really quick here. I am going to try and reup tonight and probably wave goodbye. :(

The amount of marijuana grown and sold will not vary because of this. They just gave up the ability to collect taxes on it. Morons.

only 9 or so left in the county, and a lawyer trying to help. Worst case the city ones will remain open if the county ones are forced to close. What the feds and city do is another matter

Um, no. Closed dispensaries would suck. Street prices and dispensary prices are pretty much the same.

just makes it harder to get good strained clones unless you know people local. Hopefully we can gain some ground soon, looking pretty bleak right now
