sad little seedlings need help!

Hey all! Ive just started to try and grow my first couple plants. the two that made it to this delicate seedling phase are my big bang and el nino strain. Pretty pumped when i saw those two suckers crack:hump: So now ive moved them from the window sill into the grow tent and the cfl lights. When they first got in there they were standing tall and green and now not so much. The water in set to 5.5 ph. I have been keeping the rockwool moist with an eye droper (handfull of drops) usually twice in a 24 hour period because the wool is drying out so fast. Soil is 7.5 but it shouldnt really matter as they are in rockwool so as long as the water is a good ph they should be fine at this point. So heres the scenerio.....before i went to bed i checked on them...looking nice and green and standing tall...gave them some drops of water each and then turned a small fan on in the corner on its lowest setting(fan facing away from the plants just to circulate the air) when i woke up and checked on them one of the seedlings had drooped right over and had a purple tinge on the underside of its small leaf...the other was still standing fine. decided not to water thinking maybe i had overdone it. Few hours later the other one drooped over with the same purple/red look. The rockwool feels very dry however the soil surrounding it has some moisture. Temp in the room is always 25. Stems are red Thinking maybe these light are the problem...they are flourescent but not compact does that make a difference? Dont want to lose these girls!! Any help is much appreciated. Cheers

yea i think a dome would be a good idea...seems like those rockwool dry up really fast even when opened up i can feel there is no moisture in the middle of them. The flourescent is a 45 watt the outputs 2300 lumens i think. Each sprout has two above them. They were like a few inches away but i raised them thinking it could be to close for seedlings and then one began to look better a couple hours later with watering. they are now back on the window so well see what happens. Cant figure out if its the flourescent light, positioning of the light, water or just the combination that is bringing this rukus

for starting my stuff i put them in jiffy seed starting boxes n am trying riot cubes atm cuz i kept gettin moss or some green shit on my juffy plugs

The last thing you want is a dome. Your prob is overwatering ,easy to do with a chunk of rw. Now that they have germinated let the rw and soil dry a lot more than you are. Do this a they will be fine as they still look healthy, just not getting much O2.

One of the seedlings is a goner now and the other one looks like its going that way too. It was weird because after i watered one a little more it jumped back up a few hours later and was looking beauty, then it seems like whenever the rockwool is dry the seedling keels over. The light is a 4100k so i was thinking about upping that to something in the higher spectrum but i also heard somewhere that u can pioson the seedlings with light if your not careful? Any thanks for the advice guys...What do u think the correct watrering procedure is for a young seedling in rockwool with the light left on 24/7. Seems like alot of people over or underwater and its hard to tell what ur seedling needs by looking at it because its just so tiny and doesnt reveal much with only two tiny leaves. Might have to start from scratch on this....all part of the learning curve i guess

Hey man if you havent already given that cube some water you need to do so! Same thing happened to my first seedling, i didnt want to over water and i ended up letting it dry out and my plant drooped over bad like yours, and everyone was telling me i was overwatering but i knew i wasnt, and after i moistened the cube it looked great, but the seedling go so thin stalked that after the rockwool stayed moist a few days it got root rot right at the top of the rockwool. If you see your seedling droop like that, and the rockwool feels dry, hit it with a few sprays of water on the bottom of it or something, the baby will perk right back up.

also if your going to grow in soil, you should maybe add about half an inch of vermiculite to the topsoil then plant your seed about 1/4 inch in then just water it and check on it in about 3-4 days it should be popped up and rooted nicely in your soil too

Yo Dank thanks for the input, u pretty much echoed what i have been thinkin the past day...everytime i added water in seems to perk up and when i felt how dry the cube was i was thinkin theres no way there could be any moisture, even in the centre, even tho i just had watered it 5 hours ago! Word! Round 2 i guess n see what happens. much love!
