I read comments about people saying its the rockwool!!! you should a used dirt!!! but honestly my brother grew in rockwool for years and he always had close to 100% germination rate on seeds in rockwool first he would put them in wet paper towels in between paper plates than when the roots popped out he would carefully plant them in rockwool cubes and water them with a very very weak nutrient solution this method worked for him 100% im prob wrong cuz im a noob but it looks like too me your seeds are fged up lmfao or you gave them too strong or too weak ferts but what if its just the seeds? lol a bad pack of beans bra! also ps im burly on my first grow so i probably shouldnt be giving advice lmfao :D

Down to 6 seedlings, and they're stunted, but I'm optimistic.

I was going to quit using Rockwool, and I will eventually, but out of sheer spite and stubborness Im doubling down.

Last night I started soaking 5 packs of freebies that were just taking up room in my freezer I'm going to repeat what I did to a T, aswell as taking suggestions from several sources, and I'm going to fucking learn something, even if it's just how stupid I can be!

Boom. 25/26 seedlings sprouted in paper towels. I did an overnight 1% h2o2 soak followed by a 24 hour paper towel soak, now into rockwool cubes.

All freebies, just an experiment. I tried different sized holes, putting them in the bottom of the cubes, different methods of covering them, some more wet than others (I know the dome will even it out, I didnt leave any of them soaking). I decided against purposely doing what I did before. They all got a 3 gallon rinse with 5.5-6ish ph RO, and a light .2 ec rinse with a low dose of h2o2 and mono sillilic acid.

If I manage to toally fuck this up, I'm converting to organic SIP. lol

I’m surprised you use a dome on your seedlings, do you always start your seedlings this way?
This is what 12 hour work days do to me...

So, I used the dome to germinate seeds all the way to this year. It didnt occur to me until I read your post that the seeds have already germinated, so it defeats the purpose...

I am going to go pull it off now... and fix the light timer that is set an hour behind... and get a sandwich...

1, always germinate in PT. 2, raise temp. 3, ph up. 4, good circulation. 5, if they survive, always calmag, and sounds like to me, you should definitely keep silica blast on hand.
Use coconut coir, or regular fox farm soil.
Remember, don't be afraid to use recommended amounts of nutrients. Just don't burn em.
Hand/light test[ put your hand top side up ,atop canopy, count to ten, if your hand is too hot, the plant is too hot.
Good luck, SE

I appreciate the input, but I grow sog/scrog in 4x4 rockwool cubes.

No problem. If you wanna speed germination up bro...take fine grit sand paper 300 or so, roll it up sand in, shake seed inside as to gently mar, then wet PT it inside slightly puffed plastic bag.
Keep me up man. Later....
Thanks man. I will consider giving it a shot the next time around. I have had great success with chemical scarification.

Im just trying to get more consistent results with the materials I have on hand and the method I have committed to for the time being.

I want to try everything, DWC, living soil, SiP, NFT, greenhouse, you name it

I start seeds in rockwool. 5.5 to 6.0 PH at an ec of 0.3ish. No pre soak for seeds. Just place the seed in rockwool and lightly cover up the hole. Dome and kept Temps mid 70s F. and 1 to 3 days seeds are up. Besure to exchange air a couple times a day. Use the dome for a few more days gradually opening vents. This helps the stragglers not to die or shrivel up. Great percentage of germination and no messing with a sprouted seedling. This is by far the best method for me. Especially if using expensive seeds. Been doing it for decades. Tried tons of seed sprouting methods.

Late late update.

None of them rooted in 2 weeks. Switched to riot rooters, got roots in less than 5 days. My rockwool germination days aren't over, but I won't be trying again for a very, very long time.

Also, I'm switching to organic no till SiP at some point after this batch has been narrowed down to girls, cloned, flowered, and mothers potentially selected.
