Safe bug solution?

I was reading in another section that mosquito dunks will kill larva of any insect in your soil. It's also a natural occuring bacteria that is only harmful to insect larva it says you can use it in cattle watering bowls and with vegetation. Anyone have any experience?

Nope seen them in the stores... but doesn't any thin film that a larvae can't poke it's breathing snout through might work... like a veg oil.. I'm sure someone will have an issue with veg oil ffs lol
Does your water move? Cause a film may not work

Just don't use canola oil ..... Holy shit what farmers spray on that shit.... make ya not want to eat anything from a store lol

bacillus thuringiensis kills fungus gnat larvae. Gnatrol is about $8.50 for a little package on Amazon or go to the local hardware store and get mosquito dunks. Same stuff.

habenaro(sp?) peppers simmered in water...strain into a spritzer bottle...spray the ladies good all around...don't breath when applying...worked for me...;))

Spiders are your friends!

For control/ eradication of fungus gnats I put approx 3 inches of perlite on top of my soil. I do this with all my plants now since I found out about it. The gnats took 2 maybe 3 days to be gone and never came back.

You are basically smothering their food source. A thick layer of sand or non-clumping kitty litter also works.
Perlite is nice for a topcoat because it floats. Sand & clay tend to blend in if you water from the top.
