Safer 3 in 1 insecticide burn?

Has anyone ever used The Safer 3 in 1 brand insecticide/fungicide soap??

How effective is this for Mites? I have noticed the first Spider mite I've ever seen in my grow. (Last year the only problem was fungus gnats because I grow salvia, which likes moist soil.)

I sprayed my plants last night but I noticed my timer is broken because the light stayed on all night. So, after the spray, the plants stayed in the light.

Now all the new growth and the pre-flowers are burnt and twisted. All the plants' top leaves are very curled(downward) and feel a bit thin

Hmm no one is helping on this site.. seems like there too many posts about the same problems and no enough people on regularly who know WTF they are doing...

Probably because the pro dont waste their time online.

Anyways this is the Green Krack.. it WAS PERFECT... The Safer 3in1 soap Fucked up my leaves. Anyone ever seen this??

Idk man, never used the stuff, but I suppose that a heavy enough dose, under intense light could possibly cause some damage. What kind of lights are you using? Did your fans kick off, or did they stay on all night too? It's possible that excessive heat could've contributed, as well.

hey thanks for the reply.. I'm using CFL's actually. I have two 42w Red spirals, and two 26w blue spirals. 18/6 (I fixed the timer problem)
My fan stays on day and night. Should it turn off at night?

The tips and Margins are turning a little darker now. But I think they'll be ok. I just dont know what to do if I see mites again. I'm broke and Safer is all I got. I wouldn't spray meds with this again, they do not like it.

^About the fan.... leave it on at night, too. I leave my oscillating fan run at night, at 15-30 minute intervals(15 minutes each time) because I believe it keeps mold/mildew from forming, and generally, mimics nature closer.

As far as the mites go,...I really wish I could help you more, but I've never encountered them. Upon recommendation of a trusted grower, I've used neem oil since the very beginning, and have yet to see a single mite. And, being the the rose downstairs in my kitchen, got devoured by them, I'd have to say the stuff works.lol But, the thing is, neem is more of a deterrent, not killer, of mites. If you use it in the beginng, mites won't go near the stuff, which is why I spray the pots, plants, soil, floors, walls, everything...it puts up a barrier that they won't cross. As far as using it to kill mites, mainly...the oil just suffocates them, and doesn't kill them directly. It also renders them sterile, over time, which is why I think they avoid it naturally. Anyway,...

...next time you have a few bucks, pick up a small bottle of the stuff. If I remember correctly, you can get it for less than $10 shipped, on Ebay, or in an emergency,...alot of the pesticides at Walmart, etc...are mostly neem, if you look at the ingredients. Start using it from the beginning, and you should be mite-free. For an active infestation....sorry, can't help you, all i can do is regurgitate stuff I've read. Someone who's fought a battle, successfully, will have to take over here....

Get a " hotshot" no pest strip.
Its like a insectacide air freshner.
They work pretty good in small sealed areas.

Perenthiem oil is kinda hard on plants an makes em ugly, but didnt kill mine or anything.

You can also simply wash the mites off in the shower, every 3 days to keep em at bay.

But the only sure way to get rid of em I know is to clean the area out an start fresh. Srry.

Yes, it even tells you on the bottle, don't apply it in the light.

I've used Safers for years, mostly on my orchids. I would apply right at sundown and by the next morning, they would be dry enough where the sun wouldn't cause burn.

I would suggest getting a timer you can depend on, that's what fucked you up, not the Safers.

Yeah I fucked it up, but live and learn I guess.

This is only the second grow. Sad though, the Green crack. had perfect leaves. wish I had a before pic..

A friend got me a better timer.

It got really twisted and a lot of brown spots.

I think I'm going to stick with the home brew of peppermint, rosemary, chives, chilli, and garlic or Neem oil and so on..
SNS spray for mildew.

I'm growing a small tobacco plant this year as well. Plan to have my own supply for insecticide. I don't smoke it.

I’m not a pro whatsoever when it comes to growing weed, I usually let the plant do it’s thing and I maintiain what needs to be done.

From personal experiences of using nutrients, all of them tell me to leave the lights off and leave them in room tempature. So I would suggest trying this during the night cycle if you’re indoors or at sundown if you’re outdoors, outdoors is better because it’s dark and cool consistently so the plant will definitely not be affected unless rainy or very low temps. I’ve read that this stuff is safe for your plants but heat and light will always burn the leaves, even on the other nutrients I’ve used. So it has to be a grower error to be honest.
