nice one misschestermoffit! ive got a wee question, does drying the bud increase potency? i know that it at least allows a smoother burn so less is wasted but potency? hmm *ponders*

The potency is determined by the genetics. How you dry your little trichomes after the plant is harvested concerns only storage and smokeability. It can't increase chemical production or activity.

Marie Jain: I thought the drying and curing process activates the THC and other cannabinoids because freshly harvested marijuana has little active THC?

Why would it not be 'active' and I guess my question would be what do you mean by active? The thc/cbn are being produced by the plant while it's being grown, and while it's 'ripening' the trichomes go through their different stages - which is where all the active chemical change is happening.

Once you cut the plant you stop the process and the 'cure' concerns preserving the vegetable matter on which our lovely trichomes reside - we cure to give a smooth smoke or to enhance the taste too be sure, but mostly it's so all that hard work you just did doesn't a) mold or b) dry to bitty dust and blow away before you can smoke it.

I thought that during the drying process other cbns turned into thc, just mainly that first 4-7 days after harvest and the curing was for a smooth flavorful smoke.

I'd like to see THC results at harvest wet and then after dried. Can't always believe what you read but I have read a few articles pertaining to this subject matter.
