Samsung F Strip Build

I got 20, for 5 USD all 3000k. 10 more should arrive on Monday, ordered on Sunday for 5 each.
Can't believe they're on 29.42 each now..

That $5 was a mistake... they just fixed it... the strip is WAAAAY over $5 based on the average cost per lumen

I am sure it's not a mistake. This is the second for certain, if not maybe even Third time they've dropped it to that same price.
 
660nm wakes them up. ..
730nm far red is what puts them to sleep.
Those are the Thomas Research LED Strips, aren't they?!
shot, thanks, yes, they are better than I expected, if not the final word in efficiency, but the price is stellar.

Just a few ambers, mostly cloudy. Just my preference, I like to harvest mine pretty early compared to other members around here. These were 12/12 for 9.5 weeks.

@ANC what kind of strip is that 660nm?

I am still considering adding 2 of HLG's QB18 to this F strip fixture for some added spectrum.

Unfortunately, I don't have a meter, but I don't think the output is suitable for driving photosynthesis in anything but leafy greens on its own. That being said it is pretty bright to look at directly. You can see the interference pattern the light was making with my camera... I only get that with my brighter units. also it throws a very wide light, so I think it could probably wake a whole room
 
I just ordered 20 of the 3500k at 5 apiece. Can I run 10 of these in my 2.5 x 5 room on a MW hlg-480h-48a driver in parallel with no problems? If so, would I need to heatsink them since they would be running a little soft? Or should I run more of them on a 600?

I was hoping that 480 watts split between 10 would allow me to just mount like that. Would running them at about 48 watts apiece give good results or would that be too soft? I think they can run about 60-65 each. I've seen a few threads saying with alot of these strips, you can get superior results running a bit soft as long as you're in that 30-50 watt per foot range.

Get yourself a small clip fan or 2 and blow it at the fixture while it's running, helps tremendously. That setup should work fine.

If you plug in your strip model on the Samsung engine calculator, you can play around with numbers to get an idea of output variables. As far as temperature, iPerculates suggestion is an option. If you are intent on running them bare you should measure the temps.
 
I appreciate all the help guys! I'm going to try out the Samsung calculator. It'll take me a while since I have no clue what half of that means on there, but hopefully that'll give me all the info I need.
