Samsung lm301b or lm301h?

Idk about Voltage matching (ill jave to ask about that) but here's what i have from testing done by Amare.
Maybe someone else has already discovered a difference in efficiency? Have not had a chance to read the thread. 20200312_193852.jpg

Sure, you need a heatsink (another $29/board), but it's still a good deal. Not the 301b, but still a good chipset.

Hardly a bargain when you can buy the entire Hlg 240w with dimmer and two Quantum (knock-off) V2 boards for $150.

Guess its about budget. Think HLG is shooting themselves in the foot, not offering the budget boards at the moment. Maybe they crunched the numbers and decided to leave the Chinese to that end of the market.

Its 2 separate voltage bins in this test. Flux bin seems the same, within 7% which is the width of the bin iirc. You would see the same difference between 2 lm301b if they had different voltage bins.

What do official datasheets show for the two? Is Samsung binning the lower voltage diodes and alloting as 301H?

Just had a quick look. The data is same for both sheets. But what about in physical available diodes?
The data in your comparison sheet doesn't state Samsung full product code. So we cannot be sure of anything other than that they are both 4k/80cri. And that one is slightly lower voltage bin hence tiny improvement. Needs clarification.

This has been explained by greengene and hlg steve i believe. Its the same diode, only 2 separate binning processes: some get binned as per ppf/w some get binned in lums. Wouldnt surprise me if 301h also have something going with the voltage bin but for a comparison diode to diode they are identical. Anti sulfurization is on both but they advertise it more on the 301h.

I was told thats the test they did to see the difference if any.
Maybe they pulled a diode from each n just ran it. Idk! Still trying to find out from the horses mouth.

I saw no mention of separate channels? The Geeklight is about same price, claims quality diodes ect... too & has separate channels you can control or dim.
I'd go for the more control over the spectrum with the Geeklight personally.

Youre talking about amares tests; they would test the same (or at least within range of eachother) if both 301b and 301h diode tested had the same voltage bin.

Im talking about samsungs testing/binning process. The diode is the same basicly but you can get it based on 2 separate binning procedures.

Good point.
I know he tries to match everything he compares as close as possible. That is why i had faith enough to post it showing slightly different Voltages hoping one of the more diode savvy members would chime in and explain why that is while i wait for a response from Amare.

The caveat to that statement is that it it only applies to manufactures using top bin 301b diodes, since the B's have a bin range that goes lower than H does.

Just do the right thing and go buy HLG who stand behind their product ! They replace faulty boards as long as it wasn't an operator error but a manufacturing issue .

I know for a fact they do because they replaced one of my QB96 Elites with in a weeks time.

It took 2 days for me to ship to them and i got my new QB96 back in 3 days now that's customer service!

Try having some knock off company board replaced that quick good luck with that also i asked about adding another QB 96 Elite to my current set up and Steven flat out told me it was overkill and a waste of money how many other companies do you know off who would tell you that huh ?

Or get 3 china boards thatll grow the plants just as good for the same price. And yes they do cover their warranties aswell. How often do these qbs have issues? Very very rare unless they have 50 000 + hours of run time.
