San Diego area rentals...

Alright folks so it's getting closer to the time for us to move out to the san diego area and we're starting to look at rentals. Our budget on rent is 3500 a month but i've seen some killer houses for around 2500 outside of the actual city. Any area's you guys suggest. Also do the city growing limits cover just san diego city limits or all of san diego county. And does the limit on san diego a household limit or per patient limit? There's going to be 3 of us that will have dr's recs. I've got 10K set aside just for the grow...so we should be able to really get things going.

Im pretty sure the generic 6/12 rule applys anywhere in the unincorperated areas of San Diego county. It sounds like you will be indoors so you should be good as long as you dont steal power. Outdoor in San Diego is not allowed and evertything needs to be in a greenhouse and in a pot. no planting in ground. San Diego isnt too cool with the whole MMJ thing and has a pretty conservative (leaning right) police force and city council so keep a low profile.

For areas it depends on how you want to live. Are you good in the burbs? How far from the beach do you want to be? North county or south? The best place to set up in my opinion is in an upper middle class family type neighborhood but I keep everything calm at the house and leave for work everyday in a white shirt and tie. If you told one of my neighbors or coworkers that I grow they would laugh at you.. but thats just how I do.

Good luck and welcome to the tropics.

Yeah we would be in one of the upper middle class suburbia type areas. Nice 2500-3000 sq ft house. Which part of the county would be best. I don't really care how far from the beach since i currently live 5 miles from the beach and never go. I run a business from home and already make 8K+ a month without ever leaving my house as it is so financially we are pretty good for alot of things and i plan on doing everything legit. Trying to figure out how to set it up to get a good consecutive grow to where we are getting around 1-2# every two weeks.

Check out Carmel Valley. Its close to Del Mar and even though you dont use the beach its much cooler than the inland areas. If you want a bigger piece of land Poway would be good. There are also good deals to be had in San Elijo Hills, its central but kind of out of the way at the same time.

Just a little grow that throws 1-2/week. That's 8/month...16 per cycle. Since most growers seem to get around 1 lb per light that's 16 lights...too big for a home grow. I just want you guys to go in with your eyes wide open. It's near impossible to try and meet a quota with a home grow. All one can do with a home grow is light it up as much as you feel safe, and get what you get.

Yeah for sure collective....I'm not even looking for that much though....looking for half of what you just described. more like 4 per month...2 every 2 weeks....but yeah I don't want to over-do it. I'd rent commercial space but I just want to get myself established first and I don't know how san diego county would be about it. Right now I'm looking at 10 600's and a couple 4' 8 bulb fixtures. I've got 10K set aside for what I need equipment wise so i should be fun...and then we'll have around 10k saved up for the move. I'm ready for a change. I'd love to move quicker but I want to make sure we have more then enough money for the perfect house and for moving my car and stuff across country.

I lived down south in el cajon/la mesa for awhile. got tired of the hectic party crazed sdsu students and gangbangers. I moved to north county out past caramel valley but near poway. north county is definately alot more family friendly and alot nicer place to live ( all things considered) but there are no storefront dispensaries anymore but a shitload of delivery services. I have never had issues growing, most people just mind there own business and dont care.

Yeah we're gonna have problems finding places to get rid of all the extra meds. Probably gonna have to throw my brother in a car and make him go deliver also...haha.

Alot of the places we've looked at have been in the northern part of san diego county. Do the city laws of 24 plants and 1# dried apply to the entire county or just san diego city limits?

that doesnt apply at all from my experience. its 6 or 12 and 1/2 pound per rec. I mean alot of people dont abide by those guidlines since the kelly case decision made sb420 defunct, but to be out of harms way I would just get a couple peoples rec and put them on the wall in your garden if your going over those limits. O, and quality top shelf is never hard to donate, its surprising how much garbage is moved around california and labeled "medicinal", thats the crap people can't even give away lately.

Those limits are the state minimums...from what I understand cities and counties can allow more...but not less then that amount. And from what i understand san diego is 24 plants and 1# dried. But yeah I'll have 4 rec's posted on the door to my grow...just in case. I don't plan on bothering anyone so I shouldn't have to worry...but always better safe then sorry.
