Carmel Valley and Carmel by The Sea. Did Santa Cruz go all yuppie?
eh, sorta, it's just all the money from the silicon valley filling in, the rich techies figured out paradise (compared to San Jose) wasn't too far away after all, so like anything... supply and demand, and allll that money has brought change, redoing all of downtown (looks different everytime i see it)
shittiest thing is the rent's gone up reaaaal fast in ten yrs, more than doubled in a lot of spots.
that's a big difference.. especially when not many people's income has doubled, so what happens is those quasi-rich techies rent too and the SC locals and UCSC students are pushed out
sorta sad, but it's how things work, so i can't get too butthurt over it, at least san fran still has a lot of it's history and culture... it's just a cunt to drive and park there
