Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will soon introduce legislation that would require large employers such as Amazon, Walmart and McDonald’s to fully cover the cost of food stamps, public housing, Medicaid and other federal assistance received by their employees. The goal, he says, is to force corporations to pay a living wage and curb about $150 billion in taxpayer dollars that go to funding federal assistance programs for low-wage workers each year.

The bill, which Sanders plans to introduce in the Senate on Sept. 5, would impose a 100 percent tax on government benefits received by workers at companies with 500 or more employees. For example, if an Amazon employee receives $300 in food stamps, Amazon would be taxed $300.

“At a time of massive wealth and income inequality, the gap between the very rich and everyone else continues to grow wider," Sanders said

Bernie Sanders wants to raise the Federal minimum wage to $15.00 per hour. But the Vermont senator feels no need to pay his own workers that kind of cash.
On the senator’s own website, the self-described socialist flatly explains that he pays his own interns only “$12 per hour”. “Interns,” the page continues, “are responsible for their own housing near their employing office.”

This is a corporate strategy used by most of large american companies that use what they call unskilled labor from the big box stores to the fast food industry. They pay as little as possible and put together information packages for their employees on how to get assistance from the local, state and federal government. Wouldn't surprise me if some even supply info on local food banks and charities.

Sanders is just doing his job of dividing the left, I don't think it's a coincidence that the company he picks to complain about is a tRUmp enemy.

Another bill that won't go anywhere. Progressives(TM) love the symbolic acts. Yes inndeeedy.

If you meet your goal of defeating Democrats this fall, maybe Republicans will have a change of heart and become Progressives(TM). Is that your strategy?

Bernie is a whore like all the politicians in our system. Why do you place all your hopes and dreams on a whore that has many suspicious ties to Russia and will be 79 years old in the 2020 election cycle?

companies whore their human capital everyday; you are kidding about russian ties?..that's what 'they' want you to think. stick with the facts..they're more satisfying.

Dr King's Selma March was symbolic too, as were all of the things he did.
