Sativa harder to grow indoors?

I consult medical grows and own a couple dispensaries and its a sort of going myth around here that sativa strains are harder to grow indoors. I know that sativas by nature are more lengthy and tend to grow tall and skinny, is that why people say that are harder? Does it have something to do with the environment you can provide indoors in some type of way? Or is this just some oklahoma old head myth that i should just ignore lol

I think it is just a lot of people who didn't know what they were growing, and by default how to grow it. I like my sativa hybrids because I don't have the head room for something that gets 6+ feet tall. I would think sativas would do awesome outside here if you can keep them watered. Our growing season lasts forever.

Gotcha so the headroom is what people are talking about when they say its harder, not harder but harder to manage i guess. I would love to do an outdoor grow, unfortunatley the laws here require an 8ft privacy fence and i dont have the space or money to do all that lol. My dad has some jack herers that have been 10ft forever now and every time he tops them they grow directly back into the diodes on the light lol. You could get away with grabbing some full sativa clones and instantly flowering them thought i guess and have a few tiny big ole colas

I've had some real stout, built like fire hydrants and some that just gotta be 7 ft tall ( both in and out). As a matter of fact I have 3 "short" sativas(90%) going now. I don't top plants, generally.

What strain(s)? I love my sativas but my wife loves the indica. Mostly indica autos recently but next to come down is a cookie strain.

Bruce Banner is a good one people love around here, nice SLIGHT satica hybrid (its 60:40 Sativa Dominant) with a nice earthy taste most of the time (depends on the pheno ofc)

These vegged for 7 weeks because my buddy who sent me the seeds got his photo and auto seeds mixed up, took me awhile to realize something was off lol.

I was having a bunch of problems early in veg till I got my environment dialed in and didn't want to stress them any harder than they already were, next thing I knew they were monsters.

Bending her over would have been far less stressful than cutting your biggest branch off. Bending the dominant cola over results in explosive growth of the smaller lowers off the main branch.

I didn't cut off the whole branch, just the very top of the cola that got burnt to shit. Yeah it would've been less stressful had I bent it earlier and avoided that but shit happens.

I am headed to bed so I'm not posting links (yet) but I also read that sativas can also handle more light intensity than indicas as well as higher temps. Maybe they are "harder" to grow because of that. They also seem to have a longer growing time where more can go wrong.
