Sativa harder to grow indoors?

Im nowhere near to an advanced grower but one thing i debunked quickly is statements like this ^^^ Dont take em too seriously. Pop the seed if it starts getting way high then lst it or supercrop it without much fuss. They can take the beating they re strong if you give em the right wnvironment

I think people say they are harder due to a few factors, worth noting is that it is in reference to purer sativas rather than the hybrids. They do take longer to flower, newer folks also might not plan correctly for the stretch. Probably variety dependent, but they are more sensitive to overfeeding, thus being easier to botch. Not really more difficult, but they do better under 11/13 or 10/14 than 12/12. Not personal info, but some sativa aficionados say they need certain light spectrums to really shine.

Idk, its worth the extra flower time and not terribly hard to adjust the other stuff for some top quality dope to smoke :) I like to compare growing weed to brewing beer, some are more of a challenge to produce but its for a more exotic end product.

So given the right environment and basic training and properly doing everything should result in a indoor sativa doing just as well? That makes sense. So much differing opinions about marijuana lol its confusing sometimes

I've grown several sativas indoors no problem. You have to train them to control them, and keep them healthy.

I definitely think people have a hard time keeping them healthy for as long as they take to flower. I've had plants run 16 weeks from flower formation. Thats twice as long as many growers spend keeping a plant healthy, and there are tons that can't even do that.

I grow better with Hybrid/Indicas some Sativas can be picky with Nutes. I'm getting better at figuring it out though. But short flowering times means less time to fuck it up.

16 week flower time makes for some pricey weed :weed:

Now you all got me wondering about my Chinese mystery I threw out 2 years ago. Had no clue what I was doing then, barely have a clue now, but I'm smoking my own. Still have a BUNCH of seeds I may give them another shot.

I had someone mention I was brave growing sativas. I did not know why they said that until I got some seeds that were leaning more towards indicas. They seem to REALLY WANT TO GROW!!! I am only part way through veg but they look great, my sativas at times not so much. Now I need to get a good indica that is a CBD plant.

This 100% sativa went 20 weeks. If I had read a damn book I would have doubled the yield and harvested when the trichomes were at the exact perfect peak of harvest. Instead I harvested a finished plant that was delicious and something you'll never find in a dispensary. I didn't get it tested at the lab but it was still spectacular and not something you'll ever find at Joe Schmoe's dispensary behind a sign listing THC content.

I have some other sativa's "Golden Tiger" that have been going for 10 weeks and have at least another 6. The lab results test this strain to have 29.5% THC content.

Did you test a terpene profile on this? This looks crazy good

No I didn't test it. It was an Oldtimers Haze from Ace Seeds and it was some phenomenal cannabis. You can't buy it in a dispensary because nobody growing cannabis for profit is going to spend that much time growing it and there isn't a large enough market of people that understand what something like it is to make it profitable.

I did not look at the trichomes when I harvested. I could have let it go longer.

It doesn't look like much but it sure is a treat if you want to spend the amount of time to get it to harvest. I had significant difficulties with this particular plant but have since gotten much better growing these long flowering sativas indoors in a 4 x 4 tent. THC level if I had to guess would be a mere 13 - 15%. THC is only part of the equation.

I just pulled out the rest of what I had of that plant. It must be close to 2 years old or more. I smoked a bowl and it still tastes good just different. It has a more earthy taste instead of the floral piney taste it had in the beginning. Anyway, it is a very heady high from cannabis that was harvested when it was done or very close. It wasn't harvested based on the color of the trichomes. It's a pure sativa. The best results come from letting the plant finish which is easily determined from just a visual inspection.

Yeah thats what people are telling me, ive always pulled at 10% amber trichs no matter what....im learning that i shouldnt do that but instead look at everything else first for signs of it being ripe. Great testing though very nice job
