Hi mates today i just game back home from travel and i saw my 1 sativa plant going pass my 400w HPS about 10cm of the top of the plant is not getting light so good and im out of room to pull that HPS higher. Any ideas what can i do? or does it effect that much for plant if the top of the plant wont get light so good. is her going to die?

Had the same problem with my sativa plant, are you in flowering yet? because you plant will double or even triple in size when flowering.

Mine was about 3 meters tall when it was ready to harvest. try to gently bend to plant down. I did this with some string that I had tied to some screws I had put on the edge of the pot. Do this slowly and day after day bend it more.

Good luck

LoL yah but be really careful man... when plants get that big their stems tend to snap.

You would normally do "training" in the veg phase.

The picture is not the best but forcing the plant to grow side ways rather then up is a great way to make more "tops" and keeps the small and bushy. But like i said be careful.

use a fan as a low stress trainer. Also, is your light to the roof and your plants sitting on the ground?

Just LST them over a period of time. im pretty sure the very top of your plant is not that strong b/c its all new growth.

Tie string just below cola and bend plant down. Every few hrs check to see if any more give and repeat bending when doable......I have to do that because of stupid overhang that I have... Luck

This seems to freak people out... but I've literally just snapped the stems sideways and layed them criss-crossing on top of each other when the stretch got out of control... The obvious knee jerk reaction to this: "your plant will hermie if you stress them out too much" and I may be the exception to the rule but I've done this with great success, have had no hermies, and the plants never skipped a beat. In fact, after the first time I snapped the stems over... they stretched another 2 feet and I had to snap them again!

Of course, I'm not promoting this practice, just trying to ease your mind a bit. When you train those tops... do try and be gentle, but if one just happens to snap... don't sweat it.

not rlly.

just pinch it with your finger untill you feel the inside of the stalk get mushy. you might here a snap. but as long as you dont cut the plant in half lol you should be fine.
