Sativa strains for a 2x4x5

This is my setup for my first grow

4x2x5 tent
Light
Mars Hydro SP-250
Ventilation
AC Infinity S6
Flexible ducting
iPower 6 inch scrubber
Wifi light timer
Inkbird 308 ITC Wi-Fi vent controller
Passive intake
Promix HP grow medium

I was short sighted on the height of the tent. Im stuck with the space until I can get myself a gorilla tent with almost 8 feet to work with (also went way above budget with the setup to begin with, so that won’t be for a while). Is there anyone out there that can steer me towards a sativa dom plant that stays more compact and will be easier to tame with only 5 feet of space to work with? I’m capable of LST and topping and can learn other training methods if need be. Anyone have any good strain ideas for such a short space that would be efficient?

Well, now I’m going to have to take a plunge down a rabbit hole. I probably missed this because I was looking for low stress training, so this didn’t come across my path yet. I’ve used similar techniques to salvage some shrubs that got beat up over a winter and this gave me that “aha” moment. Thank you!

Mainlining ... SCROG-ing ... a few of the successful training methods that can keep the taller sativa dominant strains under control.

I have grown the Barney's Farm Red Diesel (a 70/30 sativa-indica hybrid) using the SCROG method in that very 2 x 4 x 5. Even growing with a blurple I pulled about 5.5 oz. per harvest.

I’d still love recommendations on more manageable strains but I am an adventurous one.
I’ve taken the leap to try a “mainline” grow. Just cut back my back my biggest two to the 3rd node. All unknown genetics that were given to me (I didn’t label them before I put them away). One is a sativa dom and the other an indica. I saved the tops to clone and they were dipped and sunk into 6 inch pots. I’ve only messed with fem’d seeds and I heard about 12/12ing the clones to sex them. It will be two days this evening and they Looked great after 24 hours. The amount of knowledge and cool growers around here make up for the few douche nozzles floating about.... even if we don’t all agree

I have 4 on the go and would be more than fine with those numbers lol. I’m hoping for 5 plus oz but I don’t think that’s possible until I have my tent and genetics dialed in. I could get beginners luck. Anything with diesel, chem or Durban in it has always made me smile.

Mr Nice Super Silver Haze. You wint find a plant that will out produce it.

Also the Mars SL250 pulls 230w and your area is 8 sq.ft.

In reality for best results you need 40.3w Sq/Ft o fht very best Samsung/Osram Diodes.

The Gavita 1700e is 645w, and is 1700umol, and is a direct replacement for a 1000w HID/Hortilux HPS in a 4 x 4 area.

Not saying you need the Gavita, but going by Watt x Sq/Ft Gavita says you need 40.3w Sq for maximun production. Also Sativa Dom plants need all the umol they can get.

The Mars is only 28.7w Sq/ft in a 2 x 4 area, and doesnt use Samsung/Osram Diodes. 12w Less than is optimum. Yes 28.7w Sq/ft will work, but growth will be slower, buds less dense, and smaller.

I jumped into this having a green thumb and finally being able to grow legally. Bought everything on a whim and a bit of research to go with my chinesium “1000w” light. It has a wonky fan on it and I ordered the Mars hydro sp250 to get something affordable and decent in a short amount of time. I would have preferred to build a light, but to get it here would have taken forever. Thank you for your brutal honesty. Could I at least expect a decent grow if I do my part with that light?
