ok well this is my first post here. so where to start i am using a aero garden, growing barneys farms Acapulco Gold from seeds. my first plant is doing great about 7" high with it 3rd set of 5 coming out about a month old, i have not toped it yet. I wanted to let the 4th node come out and get a little growth out of it, so i can try and clone it. So it 3 wks old just did first reservoir change cause i use the tablets fert that came with the aerogarden and i started to see a little nute burn and i also used my tap water and it had ph of 6.8 and it real hard, but i read thats not good for the plants. So i did reservoir change and I used distill h20 and a liquid fert from ag but only 1/2 strength of it.

Any how so i was reading yesterday, when using distilled h20 u have to use cal mag supplements. Well i am getting some yellowing of the older fan leave and kinda of a motted look to the next set up fan leave, is this due to a cal/mag deficency ?? the newest growth doesnt have and look to it yet since doing the reservoir change. I wanted to have two moms, so i grew a second seedling and this one i put tad rooting harmone on the tap root and then into the ag seed pod sponge. Its on it 1st set of 5 fan leaves and 3wks old and i noticed a little brusing at the sponge root/ stem line. I am assuming the sponge was riding up to high and starting to rot the stem out, so i removed about a 3/8" of the top of the sponge. Hoping the rot will stop and grow over but its growth compared the the first one is appearing slower. Is there anything i can do to help my little girl out ?? Could i cut the stem and try and root it again ?? i plan to move them into a net pot and hydroton and go dwc with air pump & stone, and h2o pump, misters and sprayers. Just got to finish my grow room up. i have plans to do a flood table and reservoir, but in there i will go to a 100 watt MH flood. I am ordering General Hydroponics micro/ grow/ and bloom also getting American Agritech - Cal-Mag Plus. should i get any thing else as far as any root additives for the reservoir or bud enhancers i only got 2 seeds left and want to have a decent harvest this fall =) my fiancee and i are expecting out first in Nov and i want to have some superdooper to celebrate with. this is my second grow inside, first with hydro/bubbles =) Ps, I have a 250watt hps that i will start combining with the MH to Veg/ flower under. barneys says 70 - 75 Days to flower so when do i start 12/12 ? i am running my aero lights 24/0 / H20 temp is 78/ Ph is now 6.0 . I do want to veg the first one out and take some clones for my next harvest but i do plan to budd my mom this cycle too.

please help the middle pic is the 1st node of fan leaves and the 2 others are new growth is this nit lock out or a defecientcy

Hi, you mention you're going to clone your Acapulco Gold plant. I'm growing Barneys Farm Acapulco Gold outdoors. Barneys only sells the seeds in feminized form - at least that was the case when I bought them April. Can you clone plants from feminized seeds? I've been told you can't - they are good for growing through to harvest only.

U can clone a feminised plant !

Sorry not sure what your problem is there but you should look in the plant problems section there are some pics there you can compare to.And also mabey just google calcium and magnesium defecincy in plants .See what comes up.

well i give an update, plant is doing great since moving out of the ag into a 5gal rdwc bucket. got the def staright with the gh micro nutes. the new growth is brilliant green and about 1/2" growth on the shoots. did some pruning to get the real dead leaves off and things are looking great. well the new room is almost done just 1 problem is its not ac and i thinking i may have to buy a chiller and maybe a 20 gal resv to go with it. been looking at this chiller. thank u all for the help

I saw some threads where ppl are using for example dwc in 5 gallon bucket to cure heat problem in the res this guy ditched his bucket and used one of those isulated water kegs you no the round ones ? He said his water temp in this setup stayed 67-73 degrees .

well another update =) I got my temps straight now i am using a modded water cooler i removed most of the origional resv from it and removed the insulation tape from around the water cooler ac coil wraped pvc tubing around the coil and also inside the lower section of the resv then i got a small stryfoam cooler. In the small cooler i have coiled tubing from bucket 1 & 2 and also coiled tubing from the water coolerall 3 coils of about 100' are in a alchol and i have a 10 lb brick of dry ice sitting on stilts in the cooler. my ambient temp are in the mid 80s and bucket temps are around 65-68. inside the cooler i set the alchol temp to 50ish. i also got the alchol being circulated 24/7 the main bucket pumps only cycle on for 15min every hr. i origionaly had the tubing going from the bucket to the water cooler but since i only cycle the pump in the buckets it was allowing the h20 to freeze when the pump turned off =( Well any how here a diag to show, i ll also post a link to my dyi water cooler to water chiller thread

here is an update ladies are doing great just waiting for buds. got them under almost 800watts =) and they are loving it =)

Ive hit the upper 90s when both lights would run 24-7 to hott. Now i got it down to high 80s some peaks into the 90s when both lights come on then i cut off the day light. Ok so day light is the 4' t8s the sprials and the 100w MH. the hps and a couple sprial cfls are on the same timer. Ok I turn on the day light for 9hrs and i run the other circuit for 6hrs over laping the 3 hrs with both on. Kinda like it does out side. I plan to add some additional vent that will kick in during the hotttt times =) My water temps are around 65ish so i can make up for some of the hotter temps. The new vent system should provide for them alota fresh cool air.
I am using gh nutes + hydrozyme and calmag+, also the flora nectal is loaded with mag ? I am using ro water so i got to add all the micro and macros anyhow.

the first one is one of #1 tops. Second is one of #2 tops. Third is #1 next too a AA flashlight. Last is #2 next to aa flash light

Ya man with those kind of lights you really need some ventilation going on!

How are your water temps around 65 when your ambient air temp is in the 80's??? Doesnt work like that. Before too long your bucket sare the same temp as the sourounding air temp.
You need a exaust. A cheep soluiton is get a bathroom exaust fan and add it over your lights. you can find them at any hardware store from 20-60 bucks.

oh i got vents and fans 1 6" reduced to 4" sucking air from over the 100 and 150 got a 120mm exhaust sucking the chiller condenser heat out and then i got a 4" bring in cool fresh fall air =) so i imagine the closet will cool down. and yes my h20 is 65-68ish with my chiller but yes if you bring the canopy heat up and the resv water cooler it will supply the leaf cells with cooler water. so they say 72-75 deg on water with ambient of 78-80 so if you go up 5 deg on ambient and lower h20 to 65 then it will balance out. here is some new pics

If you go back to the pic up top you will see the carboard tube behing the 2 lights on top. that is an exhaust. Then if you look to the left bottom the water cooler is my water chiller. the You cant see the the roof on the right i got the celing tile proped up and the 4" is blowing the cool air down to the circulation fans. I am thinking about another 6" HV exhaust for the top but i dont want to much ducting hanging around
