Saving pollen for future use?

I'd just kinda like to know if it's even possible to save pollen for future plants. Ya know, favorite male, other up and coming females of other varieties. Also, if it IS possible, what would be the best way to store the pollen

Store it: dark, cool, on the dry side

Some people keep them in air tight containers that don't let in any light. When kept properly, you would be surprised how long pollen lasts
