I understand such behavior as normal across many
countries .... in 18 century maybe .... but not in
US ... and such context.

Again, I am aware .... that it might just be ME.
I fail to see genius in many things and perceive different things as such.

I am a big fan of Salvador Dali ..... and he seems perceived as odd ... ?

I see these... Inconsistencies, or... As purposeful distractions. Hiding the truth of what lies underneath. Don't look at the details.

It's all about the details for me .... and more importantly ..... why these are there ... and what they stand for !
If you are purposefully distracting ... my brain .... do it for purpose ... then make sure the hidden message
is sound .... and blows me away.

Otherwise you are another Andy Warhol .... and I do not call that art.

Good points. Truth can be mundane, though. All the details in 'reality' could be distractions. A veil... A school... To find truth yourself, behind the details.

well just so happens I do not use psychoactive substances for those reasons anymore.
and I am proud to say that.

now the term "drug".... I personally do not like it.
using a "psychedelic drug" to get high off of or too use it recreationally....
that term is called an hallucinogen
basically you are looking for a "trip".

now this is what everyone needs to understand
a hallucinogen and an entheogen are the same thing...
but the thing that makes those terms different is what they are used for

LSD, Peyote, Psilocybe Mushrooms, Mescaline, Ayahuasca...etc
all of these are entheogens
they are also hallucinogens
its just how they are used.


I will say this again...
the ONLY thing that makes those two terms (hallucinogen and entheogen) different.....is how they are used.

you are now probably also thinking...."what's this guys point?"

people need to be educated between the difference of the two.
they are the same thing but if these substances are used as a hallucinogen.
and NOT as an entheogen.....you are simply abusing what it was meant for.

if a psychoactive substance is used as an entheogen...
the user is looking for spiritual healing.
guidance. peace and harmony with his brothers and sisters.
love and light.

over time we ALL have lost something that holds so much meaning to us...
its happiness, love, and peace.

why have we forgotten?
now it is up to us. those who have seen the truth
we must show our brothers and sisters what the truth is.
and to NEVER forget it.
we all must accept the truth.
because the truth is what you believe

entheogens CAN be used for the good and CAN help EVERYONE with their life.
its just a matter of time til you realize...

Oh yess, Geiger.. Dali.. Van Gogh.. Thomson.. McFarlane.. vastly different, vastly Marvelous.

I do hear what you speak regarding Grey, Puffer.. but What captures my attention ultimately with his work is the humanness conveyed. True, he uses familiar images common to all of us.. but it's his use of those common images that grabs me.

Take, for example, the famous Sasha and Ann painting, the title escapes me atm.. the gentle nature of their embrace, the subtle expressions, tells me a story of the loyalty, love and the full and utter complete submission and dedication to one another ( and the molecule ;) ). I think he transfers those emotions and passions to canvas to near perfection. That's why I love his work. And that's what he does for me.

That's the brilliance of art in all of its forms. Each can touch us in bogglingly contrasting ways, from one person to the next. And results in provocative debate too ;)

No doubt ... I get you .... as art is about .... provoking an emotion and creating an impact.
Every time I look at Grey .. it reminds me of my school anatomy text books ...



This is just me ... as I had to memorize these .... thus ... as I glance his work .... I see pages of text books .... burned in the memory banks ... and no ART. But in the end that is a personal thing.

The words spiritual and material are anachronisms, there is what there is and that's all there is to it. All that exists relates to both of these terms in some way, I see no need for division here.

Recreational use can be as enlightening as any other use, that fact that someone is merely looking to trip doesn't prevent them from picking up pearls of wisdom along the way. What irritates me is when people turn these states of consciousness into a competition "I can trip harder than you" or "I'm getting more out of tripping than you", seems to me to be completely beside the point. As we know, an accurate description of bizarre states of consciousness is often next to impossible, and so they are for the experiencer's benefit(or not) alone.

All mind altering substances should be treated with the utmost respect and with as little ego as possible.
