Ghost Cake (Ghost OG x Black Forest Cake) Pheno #3
This one is heavy on the gas and leans heavy on the ghost side of flavors and smell. Above average trichs and great bag appeal make this one a winner. Not something you can walk around in a sandwich bag without immediately being noticed.

Creme Fraische (Triangle x Dosido) Pheno #3
This light green pheno leans heavy on the Triangle side. The buds all stayed lime green throughout, even with temps in the mid 60's at night. Excellent lemon / lime OG gas smell with some pine. Good trichs and great bag appeal on this one too. Very sticky.

Update

It' s been nine days so I figure an update is appropriate. Overall things are still chugging along and everything is looking really nice. Now that the clones & Mendo Miracle are on day 48 of flower they're just putting out a ton' of stank, (in a good way). The Mendo Miracle is already super greasy and resinous, I'll get some photos of her on here later this week once I move her to the 4x4.

Crescendo #3 is on the 9th day of a full plant hang and she should be ready to be trimmed up and put into a bucket to cure. I checked her last night and she was just a touch too moist.
Crescendo #2 got chopped on 4/20, so she's still got another week to go. Crescendo #1 is still flushing out and I'm on the fence about chopping her now or giving her another week. She's still putting out quite a few white hairs, much like the Ghost Cake #3. Based on what I'm seeing I think I'll have to chop this weekend regardless if she needs a few more days. Today is day 80 and I've got other genetics on deck ready to go. 84 days (This Sunday) will mark 12 weeks of flower. I'm not usually that patient, but Crescendo #1 looks to be a real treat.

Just got back from a long weekend / mini vacation. The garden was left unattended for 3 days during my absence. It's always cool to see how much growth can happen over a few days when you're not in the garden looking at them multiple times a day.

Right now the seedlings are getting 24 hours of light and the table is being flooded 1x per day. Rainbow Belts from Archive on the right, Triangle x Black Forest Cake x Stardawg in the middle, and a couple habanero and jalapeno plants on the left. As usual, Jacks 321 full strength and the ladies are loving it.

I picked up a new atomizer so I can dab on the go and so far I'm loving it. The Sai by Humboldt Vape Tech. I'm still playing around with the different coils, but right now I'm using the ceramic doughnut and getting nice flavors and vapor production. I have an old eVic II battery that has temp control, so I'm using that and running it at 440~ degrees.

Also been doing a little rosin pressing lately. Here's some Crescendo rosin I pressed from flower, 1 min 45 seconds at 190 degrees. It came out really light in color, not sure if that's good or bad yet..

Everything in the 4x4 has been flushing for about a week now. It's looking like the Crescendo #3 phenos are ready for the axe, and same with one of two #2 Crescendo phenos. The #1 phenos will need another 2 weeks or so.

The original #1 pheno from seed has been drying for 9 days, so she'll get trimmed up tonight and put into buckets. Here's a shot of one of the #3 crescendo's coming down soon.

Update

My better half had a minor surgical procedure done on Monday so I've been at home with the kiddo all week. She's doing well, she's sore, but recovering.

I chopped the three Crescendo #3 clones on Tuesday. They're hanging up to dry, the Crescendo #2's will come down later this week. The #1's will need at least another week.

The 2x4 is doing great. I've been pretty hands off since the table is set to low tide, I don't have to top off as often. Just did the first top off yesterday after almost 2 weeks, the PH has been very stable at 5.8 - 5.9 and the PPM's at 850. I've been flooding just once a day for 5 minutes and it's been keeping the coco nice and wet. I think I'll keep with the coco this run as I feel I've got everything else pretty dialed in.

Update

Did a big reset yesterday, took about 3 hours all in all. By the end of it I had worked up a nice sweat.

I cut down the remaining Crescendo #1's, (there were three left) but knew I wouldn't have room in my 2x2x4 drying tent with all the other plants still in there drying, so I put them in the 2x4 tent to dry. I cleaned out the 4x4, scrubbed the table, scrubbed the reservoir, cleaned the tubing, shifted the HLG's back into place, and vacuumed it with my shop vac.

I moved the 11 seedlings from the 2x4 and began flower. Five days ago I topped all of them so hopefully they don't go crazy like the Crescendo's did. I'm rolling with Botanicare Coco Coir for the medium, and flooding 5x per day. Once during light off and every 4 hours with lights on.

6 Fem Rainbow Belts from Archive(left side), 5 Reg Blarney Kush from Dankonomics Genetics(right side).

The Mendo Miracle (Starfighter x Mendobreath) turned out really nice, super dense, and she stacked really nice where all the nugs connected to make one giant main cola. Even the lowers are extremely dense.

It's been three days into flower and things are looking great. The plant seem to enjoy the extra space and are preparing themselves to go through an explosion of growth.

I don't want to jump ahead too far, but in 4-5 weeks I'll be starting the next round of seeds. If I time it just right I'll be able to pull off a nice perpetual back-2-back-2-back set of harvests.

I'm still on the fence about exactly what I'll run, but the Shock and Awe from Cult Classics is definitely going to be one of the packs. It's a cross of White Fire OG x (OGKB x UltraVioletOG), so hopefully there's some stank in there. I found a 10-reg pack on SOL seeds for $60 or so, and everywhere else I looked these packs were going for $200.

Since the Shock & Awe is a regular 10-pack, I intend on starting some fems with em' just in case I get more males than females. This could be a perfect time to pop some Ghost Cake & GG4 S1's that I have laying around, maybe even the last of my Critical Kush or GDP. The plan for this next round is to find fire, clone it, and hopefully keep it around for a while. I've been doing a lot of seed popping lately and I've found some good, some bad, and some in between quality stuff. For example this Crescendo is definitely fire and would be top shelf in any dispensary, but compared to the Ghost Cake or Creme Friasche, or even GG4, it's just a hare below in quality and I can't keep it around when I know I have better stuff available. thanks @Dankonomics_genetics

Eventually I'd like to reach a point where 80%+ of what I'm growing is keeper cuts, while the other 1-2 or 3 plants in my garden are 'new' strains being ran side-by-side to slowly to (hopefully) find keepers of new strains.

Looking back, it's been just over two years since I got back into growing and I finally feel like I have full control of what's going on inside and out of my garden. Things are becoming rudimentary, tasks are repetitive, and most importantly there's order and structure to how my garden works. I have the ability to scale down, and I have an understanding of my ceiling for scaling things up. I'm beginning to ride that wave of confidence that comes with reaching the milestone of 15 successful crops. And since switching to hydro I've granted myself the ability to step away from the garden for 4,5,even 6 days without needing to worry about anything... it's a good feeling.

I'd like to get some input from others on RIU on what they'd like to see ran alongside the Shock & Awe...

I can't believe it's already been nearly two months since the last update. There's lots to fill you in on, so roll one up and let's dive right into it.

I gifted the Shock & Awe to a friend, only 6/10 popped and I was limited on room, so he's got them growing in his outdoor garden.

2x4 Tent
I just upgraded to a larger (taller) 2x4 the other day. The old one will be delegated to drying duties which will be nice because the 2x2 drying tent was crammed full last harvest. Currently inside the 2x4 are 9 plants. 7 GG4xStarfighters (fem) and 2 Jeeves (White x Sundae Diver). Today is day 19 of flower for them, and once the 4x4 is free and clear of plants, they'll get moved in there to finish up.

4x4 Tent
6 Rainbow Belts from Archive, currently on day 57 of flower. They'll get cut down this weekend so I can make room for the GG4 crosses. All six are nearly identical in phenotypical expressions, with some slight variance in stacking on two of them. Very strong grape skittles aroma, if you poke your head in the tent and take a whiff the smell alone almost gets you stoned. Excellent density top to bottom, the 'lowers' are rock solid and getting good light penetration through the canopy. 10/10 would recommend the Rainbow Belts to a new grower than wants an easy strain to grow, where you can monocrop from and get consistent growth from seed to seed since they're RBX'd. I would not recommend for someone looking to pheno hunt, as these seem to be really stable in the expressions shown.

Next Round
It's hard to say what exactly I'll run next. I have some new gear on the way from bigworm6969, one's an Ass cross and the other is a Spartan Kush Cross. I still have the Head Doctor beans from HGNW, quite a few Jeeves, and some S1's of the Ghost Cake. Ethos Glue RBX2 could come into play, so could some S1 GDP seeds from 2017, I'd like to run those again to get some purple variety in the garden since I've been heavy on the OG's and Glue's lately. Most likely I'll be running 3 strains, possibly 4.

Hardware
I was overdue on replacing fans and filters so I've got some new stuff on the way. A couple Phresh 4''x12'' carbon scrubbers and two AC Infinity T4 fans with the temp & humidity controller. I'll be honest, the ipower carbon filters for $40 on amazon are well worth the money, but I've been on a quality > quantity kick lately, so I'm looking to optimize as much as possible. The thought process is that adding a controller can help me dial in my day/night temps a bit better to reduce variances in temperatures.

Hello, I'm SB and welcome to my journal. I'll be using this thread to post garden updates and other little projects I have going on from time to time.

A little about my grow style...

I've been an on / off grower since 2008. For years I grew in soil, inside a tent, using HPS and MH lights. A couple years ago I hopped on the LED bandwagon and haven't looked back. I predominantly grow in coco or hydroton now, but I've been known to dabble and make little tweaks now and again. I still use tents and prefer to keep things simple and budget oriented.

These days I run with three tents. Sizes are 4x4, 2x4, and 2x2. The 2x2 is used for drying, the other two are used interchangeably between veg and flower.

Both are rigged with LED's, the 4x4 tent has two HLG QB288's in a 3K spectrum that can max around 570 watts. The 2x4 tent has Samsung LM561C strips in a mixed spectrum that blend to 3100K and can max out around 250 watts.

I grow in what's called an ebb & flow system. The plants are in plastic pots placed on a flood table that's raised off the ground (on a stand) with a water reservoir below. Inside the reservoir is a water-pump that's connected to a timer that 'floods' the table at intervals I preset. Doing so feeds the plants from the bottom as water wicks 'up' into the medium and saturates the roots. The water flows back down into the reservoir after the timer shuts off, thus recirculating both the water and nutrients.

more to follow...
Minor correction. It looks like you have (the equivalent of, if diy) of two 260w kits, not two QB288s. The QB288s are the boards themselves, you've got 4. Two would'nt be 570 watts. :).

It's been a while, but I've been around. Using IG a lot more and enjoying that platform. Nonetheless, I still pop into the forums here and check out what's going on.

Just chopped down some plants over the past week. Had to add a second tent for drying since the 2x4 filled up quick. There's a GDP, Crescendo, a few phenos of Wifi43 x Alien Dog Cherry from Obsouleet. This past round was pretty dialed in, especially since adding the Bluelab Guardian into the mix. I'm running all AC Infinity fans now, each tent has its own controller, including the dry tents. The controller does a great job at keeping the RH stable at 60%.

Got two Spartan Kush x Dirty Little Secret females going in the 2x4, and one of them has a Chernobyl-like pungent lime smell. It's a pretty fantastic smell, nice trich coverage and close node spacing. Couple more weeks to go for them.

Aside from that, really just looking forward to trimming up these buds and having something to smoke. Running dangerously low. Will be doing a reset soon and popping some gear from In House & Archive.
