Appreciate it brother. It's been a week and she's doing great.Good vibes to your other half dude
Minor correction. It looks like you have (the equivalent of, if diy) of two 260w kits, not two QB288s. The QB288s are the boards themselves, you've got 4. Two would'nt be 570 watts. .Hello, I'm SB and welcome to my journal. I'll be using this thread to post garden updates and other little projects I have going on from time to time.
A little about my grow style...
I've been an on / off grower since 2008. For years I grew in soil, inside a tent, using HPS and MH lights. A couple years ago I hopped on the LED bandwagon and haven't looked back. I predominantly grow in coco or hydroton now, but I've been known to dabble and make little tweaks now and again. I still use tents and prefer to keep things simple and budget oriented.
These days I run with three tents. Sizes are 4x4, 2x4, and 2x2. The 2x2 is used for drying, the other two are used interchangeably between veg and flower.
Both are rigged with LED's, the 4x4 tent has two HLG QB288's in a 3K spectrum that can max around 570 watts. The 2x4 tent has Samsung LM561C strips in a mixed spectrum that blend to 3100K and can max out around 250 watts.
I grow in what's called an ebb & flow system. The plants are in plastic pots placed on a flood table that's raised off the ground (on a stand) with a water reservoir below. Inside the reservoir is a water-pump that's connected to a timer that 'floods' the table at intervals I preset. Doing so feeds the plants from the bottom as water wicks 'up' into the medium and saturates the roots. The water flows back down into the reservoir after the timer shuts off, thus recirculating both the water and nutrients.
more to follow...
@smokebros what's your ig, how was the terpene profile on the rainbow belts and yield?I can't believe it's already been nearly two months since the last update. There's lots to fill you in on, so roll one up and let's dive right into it.
I gifted the Shock & Awe to a friend, only 6/10 popped and I was limited on room, so he's got them growing in his outdoor garden.
2x4 Tent
I just upgraded to a larger (taller) 2x4 the other day. The old one will be delegated to drying duties which will be nice because the 2x2 drying tent was crammed full last harvest. Currently inside the 2x4 are 9 plants. 7 GG4xStarfighters (fem) and 2 Jeeves (White x Sundae Diver). Today is day 19 of flower for them, and once the 4x4 is free and clear of plants, they'll get moved in there to finish up.
4x4 Tent
6 Rainbow Belts from Archive, currently on day 57 of flower. They'll get cut down this weekend so I can make room for the GG4 crosses. All six are nearly identical in phenotypical expressions, with some slight variance in stacking on two of them. Very strong grape skittles aroma, if you poke your head in the tent and take a whiff the smell alone almost gets you stoned. Excellent density top to bottom, the 'lowers' are rock solid and getting good light penetration through the canopy. 10/10 would recommend the Rainbow Belts to a new grower than wants an easy strain to grow, where you can monocrop from and get consistent growth from seed to seed since they're RBX'd. I would not recommend for someone looking to pheno hunt, as these seem to be really stable in the expressions shown.
Next Round
It's hard to say what exactly I'll run next. I have some new gear on the way from bigworm6969, one's an Ass cross and the other is a Spartan Kush Cross. I still have the Head Doctor beans from HGNW, quite a few Jeeves, and some S1's of the Ghost Cake. Ethos Glue RBX2 could come into play, so could some S1 GDP seeds from 2017, I'd like to run those again to get some purple variety in the garden since I've been heavy on the OG's and Glue's lately. Most likely I'll be running 3 strains, possibly 4.
Hardware
I was overdue on replacing fans and filters so I've got some new stuff on the way. A couple Phresh 4''x12'' carbon scrubbers and two AC Infinity T4 fans with the temp & humidity controller. I'll be honest, the ipower carbon filters for $40 on amazon are well worth the money, but I've been on a quality > quantity kick lately, so I'm looking to optimize as much as possible. The thought process is that adding a controller can help me dial in my day/night temps a bit better to reduce variances in temperatures.
