Scared to Flush in Dense Soil?

Hey I am 4 weeks into flower (check the journal or gallery plenty of pics and details)

But when I mixed my soil way back some 8 weeks ago, I was a total newb and I did not make a very good soil recipe.

My soil is very compact and dense, while the plants are thriving I am afraid that if i added 2 gallons of water for 1 gallon of soil I will flood the pots into a muddy mess that does not drain through the soil.

This muddy mess seems like it would be incredibly dangerous to my plants. So how do I flush the nutes out of them in such dense soil?

Should I flush now, or in week 5 or 6? bearing in mind I am waiting till week 8 or 9 to harvest?

Should I just not flush and only give one more shot of nutes at week 5 and then stop and only use plain water / apple juice with some plants... ?

WHAT DO I DO TO GET THESE NUTES OUT OF MY PLANTS BY HARVEST FOR THAT CLEAN SUPERIOR TASTE!!!?

only one gallon of soil thats not much for a plant to flower in. but i would try the flush but if the soil doesnt suck it up then you will have to dump out the water and try something else

try makeing airation holes in the soil with a pen or something all around you could then fill the holes you made with perlite, that might help.

you might have no choice but to repot in a bigger pot. That will allow the roots to grow into some airated soil, and allow you some drainage. I mix alot of perlite in my soil. it gives it that light airyness. you will have to water more often if you do this. If you can go light on the vermiculite. it retains nutes and salts really well so it is harder to get an effective flush.

lol they are in 5 gallon pots- i will use 10 gallons of water if i decide to do this, 2 gallons of water per 1 gallon of soil.

No repotting necissary...

but next soil mix will be different for sure- with perlite- i have obviously learned.

Think i am just gonna cut nutes, and let them get really dry, then water with plain water, molasses, and applejuice for last 2 weeks and hope those kinda flush out any nutes retained in soil or plant mater...

IDK theres no good way to do this, putting aeration holes may help it drain, but could be bad for roots, and ultimately i don't even think it would help it drain.

High OB. :joint:

How do you use molassis? Do you put it in the water? I thought you just misted the buds with it.

lol dont mist the buds with molasses- it gunks them up with brown stuff...

You mix the molasses at about 1-2 tablespoons per gallon- you can be pretty liberal with it, but you boil it down in a smaller ratio so that it isnt syrupy- it makes your house smell goofy but if its boiled down enough and mixed in with the other larger water batch it is pretty good for the plants. My plants have been on it since the beginning of floweirng, and they are doing pretty good and i would attribute some of that to the molasses its a carbohydrate that aids in photosynthesis and also has a 5 potassium rating.

LOL Yeah I didn't mean neat mollasis, I know you put it in the water but I thought you just misted with it, I hadn't heard of putting it in the feed water, but then I had never heard of the apple juice before I read it on your juornal.

I am reading and learning so much on here. Am am already looking forward to my next grow, just to compare with my current first attempt.

I would go with this scenario if you are worried about the salts built up with the nutes. If you use water for two weeks before harvest you should be fine.

thanks incognito. That solidifies it thats what i will do. I will post results here and in my journal of course.

Thanks all!
