school me on dwc

my main question is about nutes, say i have a 10 gallon tote do i add 9 gal of water and mix up 1 gal of my nutes and add that or do i make 10 gals of nute water?

so say boost is lets say 5ml do fill up the tote with the 10 gal of water and add 50 ml of boost?

let me know anything else you think i should know about dwc.

Hiya Kotton!!!
Dwc is great.
I dint do nothing but reseach on Dwc and have a look at my efforts..........https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/448220-continuing-my-grow-here.html
Have you got a, ppm meter ph meter???
I fill my 5 gallon Bucket right up to the bottom of the net pot and will do this for the rest of the grow, only reason why is, if you were growing in soil when the plant gets bigger you wouldn't pull the soil out so the plant can get air, so why would i do it in Dwc when the water is the medium.
Hope that makes sense, anything you need to know that I know ask away on my thread or hear and i will try my best top help.
Good Luck!! :)
:peace:

what nutrients are you using? get a ppm meter. if your using something like AN or Canna they both have excellent calculators on there site that does all the work for you.

Put the water in the tote.

Add the nutes in proper order.
This is exactly right. Just fill your res with water and then add nutes one at a time. Start your seedlings off at 1/4 strength nutes around 250 ppm and then slowly work your way up to full strength. Seedlings arent like clones you cant hit them right away with full strength nutes.
I cant stress this rule enough. DWC is great and provides stellar veg growth super fast but WATER TEMPS are a key factor in successful DWC harvests. Cool water temps are vital in DWC try and stay anywhere from 60 degrees to 70 degrees, if you cant you need to read Heisenbergs thread about beneficial bacterias and what not.

Hey, as far as DWCs go is there any way to make one w/o using rockwool and net pots and grow rocks. and how long do u think it will take a plant to fully grow in a DWC

ive seen people use solo cups for nets and cut up sponges for cubes, i guess it can work

Not sure about not using a medium. What's going to hold your plant.

If I veg longer than 2 weeks, I end up with trees. These pictures were taken 6 days apart: (flowering time depends on the strain.)

LST is what you need to start working with my friend, you have beautiful girls, with lst you would have been just right and with more than plenty colas

@Brewer so u can controll how long u veg for. like how do u force a plants to flower cuz my plant has been vegging for ever and its about 45 inches and jus started to flower. but once i start another one how can i shorten the time it needs to veg so it wont be so tall

It was actually my first try with LST. Only did one 'training session' to them. They sat in there for a bit longer than I wanted as my flower room finished up. Ended up having to use tomato cages on them by the time I did get them under the 1000.

cool u think it will take more than 4 months for it to fully grow and bud up
IN DWC you get fast veg growth as soon as you see interchanging nodes you can put her in flower and let the magic happen. Finishing times are always the same no matter what grow style you use. veg growth differs though. The more you let her veg the bigger she will be.

Getting my system dialed with proper nute and ph numbers made all the difference in the world. The first batch sat in veg for like 5 weeks and grew like dinner plates. Now if I go past 14 days, I end up with too big of plants. Have height restrictions in there.

Shorter veg time? Grow them in an ideal hydro environment. They'll grow faster than you want them too.

Beer 30 and leaving for elk bow hunting for the weekend. Cheers!

i vegged this lady in DWC for about 8 weeks and this is what i ended up with, she was topped 2 times in veg, if you have a plant over 40" in veg hope you have HIGH ceilings lol, just start training her now.

Yes, thats correct...if the recipe is 5ml/gal and your res is 10 gal then you add 50 ml for full strength...seedlings and clones generally get 1/4 (25%) strength at first and as the plant grows you increase the strength

5 ml/gal at 25% in a 10 gallon res is 12.5 ml
