Scorched plants Too hot!

I'm a newbie and first time grower in So Cal. The other day I had to stay later after shift, by the time I got home my plants had been scorched in the sun. Should I cut my loses and start over or can my plant recover? Days before burn 2nd photo :(

Also any tips to a speedy recovery if it is possible?

Yeah see looks pretty toasted .. Next time try some sun screening ( you can fab up a shade cover ) it will help cut down on direct intensity of sun.
 
Too me it looks like you dumped a shitload of water on an already stressed out plant ..

I would have brought inside and MISTED plant. Place them inside out of direct sun ...
DO NOTHING ELSE ... No feed , No more Water. Just see if she will TRY to come around. Look for ANY new shoots or leaf growth. Burned damaged leaves will not recover. Time will tell.
 
I moved both of the plants inside last night and have been misting them all day so ill continue with that. I did water it after the damage had happened thinking it would help but I'm a fool. Appreciate the reply man.
 
Honestly, your not to far along so starting over wouldnt be so bad. But i would start a new one and baby the fuck outta that one just to see what she'll do, she might recover might not. Best of luck to ya bud
 
Is there a chance you could snag a couple of cuttings? Preferable teens? I'd think there would be tons of places to get them in So Cal. No?
 
Yea theres a ton of places, I'm going to invest in some new plants and try to carry on with the sun damaged plants. So far day 2 the plants remaining leaves are still healthy and the stems haven't discolored anymore from initial burn. Any suggestions on when to put the plant back into indirect sunlight?
 
Honestly, those plants never stood a chance.
Look for my thread called Roots under general growing.
You can start over from seed and have something healthy and strong in 2 weeks from now.

If you follow the technique of punching holes into plastic grow bags and bagging up to the next size bag when the canopy is about as wide as the bag every time. can be as little as 5 days between bags. They cost cents each. Keep them in a pot that is larger than the bag to keep the sun off it. Cover the soil under the plant with a mulch of your choice when getting ready to take em outside or if starting outdoors before you take them to full sun. You can gradually fill the pot with very loose soft material like a seedling mix or light potting soil and peat mix. Cover the coco rootball's top with the soil as well so it can start to leach inside the soft coco.

You're not a fool, you are learning, and the fact that you want to trying to save that one while starting new plants puts you ahead of many newbies. Keep it out of the sun, mist it and water properly and I think she will recover.
