No offense BarnBuster....everybody has different taste......I know how popular Jack is, but I think it's just outstanding advertising.....I think it's a very harsh whisky , for me....it just don't slide down nice and smooth, say like Crown Royal. J.D. runs a kick-ass marketing campaign. Oh, I'm sure I wouldn't pass up on a good pull ! Enjoy !

Jack's not really a fav of mine and not really Bourbon more a sour mash Tennessee whiskey. Article was posted mainly due to the extremely high ABV. My go-to, everyday bourbons are usully high rye content, currently in my glass right now is Old Grand Dad 114. ;)

The highest proof Bourbons I've got recently that have been attainable and affordable (getting harder each year to meet these bars) are Elijah Craig Barrel Proof at 136 [they put out several each year, usually in this ABV range], Booker's at 125, 1792 Full Proof at 125 and Larceny Barrel Proof at 123. There are a few other Unicorns but next to impossible to find, even online; Stagg, William Larue Weller and E.H. Taylor have some 135-140 range. Not many break the 140 mark though.

It may have been discussed already but I just got some Bullit rye and I'm enjoying it very much. $30 for a 750ml seems reasonably priced.

I'm interested in other's opinions?
